OK, I am finally past the basic tutorials, and have gained my throwing knives. Still the beginning, I know, and I can't wait to advance, because this is starting to get repetitive...I have NO doubt things are about to change, with new skills and challenges required, I can't help but think of other games, when I was thinking 'this is boring', just when everything goes to hell, and now its like, 'Oh so you want to play a game?' Looking forward to much more! I can't stress enough to both of you, nillindeiel and ayanami, how much I love Red Dead Redemption!!! It is a wide open sandbox world, where you can pursue the main plot, or go sidelining at your leisure for treasure-hunting, herb-hunting, wild game hunting, games of skill including poker, blackjack, horseshoes, five-finger-knive-game, horse racing, chariot racing, and more... learn to lasso wild horses, herd cattle, and explore a truly good visual environment..the graphics are top notch! I'll get back to you when I hit 100% of the flags in AC1. And if you are as big of a 100%'er that you claim, 'nami, you have your work cut out for you. RDR. Challenge on xoxo

Challenge on xoxo Don't go for the 100% flags! It might as well double your playing time, and it gets you nothing in return. Worst challenge ever! The first game is already a bit repetitive with the missions, do not set yourself up for more frustration!

And I'm gonna keep hammering on you about Red Dead...its fun, creative, beautiful, and I really hope you listen! The 100% challenge there is worthy, just because its so very hard to achieve! No spoiler, but 'shoot the hats off of 6 people's head', without killing them, and without re-loading your gun, is TOUGH to do!

Sorry, but that one won't make my list. That is a true shame. There's definitely a game plot involved, and a great story line among the characters as well. Yet, we are all different, I understand. I am still scratching my head trying to figure out why anyone thought GotG was a good movie. I quite literally checked the time at 40 minutes, thinking I must be near the end of this nonsense, only to discover I still had an hour and 20 min. to go.. forced my way through it. Never again. I will however still suggest Uncharted. It is fun too, and more great characters peace and love like always <3

Yeah, I think the only location that I went ahead and got all the flags in the first AC game was getting all the Masayaf flags at (well) Masayaf. Because it's such a small area and not that many flags (though finding some of them was a bit of pain). Anywhere else, if I came across a flag, sure I'd grab it. But I didn't seek them out...as Ayanami said, 1st game is a bit repetitive. The subsequent games get better in that regard

Well ACIII has *finally* been made backwards compatible on XBox One. So I got it and am restarting the game on the XBox (nothing against the WiiU, but on this type of game, using that big gamepad can be annoying at times). Might take me a bit to catch up to where I was though.

Interesting to hear you say that, nillindeiel. I'm guessing that I'm maybe halfway through AC 1, and am getting a bit frustrated with the physical control afforded with the unorthodox layout of the buttons, as compared to most other games for the PS3. Not to mention some of the game mechanics itself. I'm constantly bouncing off of walls I intended to climb, or unintentionally climbing onto a handrail, or such, while being chased; as well as not being able to pull out my weapon of choice when needed.. finally figured out that you have to press the button TWICE, to swap out weapons. I'm trusting that you and ayanami are correct in saying the series is a fun game. So far, it is getting very boring, with little variety. Hopefully, the game-play improves, with the technology and programming advances made over the course of the series. Which leads me to: Do I have to finish AC1? Do I get to import skills into the following installments?

From a skills perspective, no... you don't *need* to complete the first game. You don't import your skill set at the end of the first game into the next game. Like we recommended before, with this first game... just stick to the story line, I wouldn't try to get 100% with finding all the flags and stuff. The first game is indeed kind of low on it's variety (unfortunately). Things really do pick up with the following games when you get to regress into Ezio (and in AC III, Conner) instead of Altair. I'd still say finish the first game, though, however it's more for the plot points of the story line, particularly the 'present day' story line with Desmond. (for example) when you start it, ACII is going to pick up the present day plot thread with Desmond pretty much *right* where AC I is going to leave off when you finish it. So if you want to get the full picture of what's going on with that story, ideally you want to follow it through from the first game, to ACII, to AC: Brotherhood, to AC: Revelations, and then to AC III Or, if it does indeed just being too tedious on AC1, you could always find youtube videos of the AC1 cinematics or Let's play videos of that first game so that you feel you have a handle on the story before you jump into ACII (if that all makes sense... I've got Friday brain )

Well, I managed to get caught up on the XBox to where I had been on the WiiU (advantage I guess of having played those early memory sequences before + skipping all the skippable cut scenes). Just finished helping out with Paul Revere's midnight ride... (putting under spoiler tag for those that have not yet played ACIII) Paul is kind of a jackass. When he was going on and one while Connor was working to haul the boat ashore, I was kind of hoping I would get a chance to just deck him. I absolutely loved Connor's reaction every time Paul tried to touch him though *lol*

re: AC1 - I'm nothing if not stubborn. Finally on my way in memory block 7. Need to have a chat with teacher;).
Looking forward to AC2, because I got stuck pretty bad at the end of MB5, trying to kill Jubair, and went online for some guidance. In doing so, it seems that AC2 is many people's favorite game in the series.

Don't get me wrong, I love Altair, but he's often very 'one note' (for lack of a better term). Also they (IMO) improved some of the game mechanics as well as some of the world mechanics (I'm particularly fond introduction of the tailor shops where you could dye your clothes, I like me some dark colors instead of Assassin White)

Would not surprise me if ayanami was the same, given her fixation on Loki
