So some initial thoughts on AC: III as I've started my initial play-through (I'm not too far into it... Only somewhat recently got Connor in his Assassin robes). One issue I have with it was I think way too much time was spent as Haytham. I get what they were going for on that front with the... shocker reveal that he's actually a templar and everything. Which I actually already knew - I've read the novelizations of most of the games But I think I would have liked to get to Connor sooner. The controls feel off... this could just be a result of it being the WiiU version of the game instead of XBox... but it also feels different from what AC:IV Black Flag is on the WiiU (which I have)...so I'm not so sure it's just a console difference (unless it was a case of them improving things when they ported the next game, Black Flag, for the WiiU). If ever it becomes backwards compatible for the XBox One, I guess I'll find out. Also not a fan of the money making system in it. I liked in the Ezio games where it was a case of spending money to build up your town (or Rome, or Constantinople), and the more you spent, the more was deposited in the bank every 20 min. Don't like having to do the convoys in this game (especially with having to 'defend the convoy' every now and then) That said, I do like Connor as a character, also liking Achilles so far (the question, of course, being will he survive the game?). If there weren't fast travel in this game, I would probably not like the environment, but the fast travel makes that more bearable. Can take time to explore the Frontier if you want, otherwise, just fast travel to the nearest fast travel point there is to where you need to go.

It was important, yes, but it could have been shorter. As for the convoys, make sure you take out the templar bases first, so you'll only have a 5% risk remaining, that'll spare you a lot of running after them to protect them. You'll also get ship convoys later on, which make more money. Not that you really need much in the first place. I've used the assassin tomahawk as my main weapon throughout the game and the few consumables you buy, like bait or bullets aren't that expensive, either.

I'm assuming by templar bases you mean the forts? I've noticed those a couple times going through and getting all the view points synchronized (as well as getting some of the chests and feathers that said view points reveal) in a couple of the frontier areas but I haven't actually attacked one yet. Good to know that there is indeed a benefit to doing so (outside of simply decreasing templar influence on an area). Yeah, in terms of equipment, I think I've bought a sword. Other than that, I've been keeping with his tomahawk, bow and hidden blades (I don't even use his pistols all that much). I do like having money on hand though as I do like to (eventually) collect all the weapons and what not, even if I never use even half of them. I'm a completionist in that particular regard *lol*

OK, according to the 'net, this is the full list of games out there..I may spend some of my gift card on this. I've seen trilogies and complilations on Amazon.. one is Ezio, which looks like installments 2, half of 3, and 4 below. What about Copernicus? Is it automatically a part of Brotherhood?
Another is The America's Collection, which lists Assassin's Creed III: The American Colonies, Assassin's Creed Liberation, and Assassin's Creed Black Flag.
Is III: Am.Cols the same game as III below? What about Liberation? Where does it fit in?
Assassin's Creed (2007) Assassin's Creed II (2009) Battle of Forlì (2010) ... Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (2010) Copernicus Conspiracy (2010) ... Assassin's Creed: Revelations (2011) ... Assassin's Creed III (2012) ... Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013) ... Assassin's Creed: Rogue (2014) ... Assassin's Creed: Unity (2014)

Assassin's Creed: Unity (2014) I can't give you any other advice here than I would give on any kind series, which is: Start with the first! Yeah, sure, the games always give you a quick rundown of what happened so far, but isn't it better to see for yourself? I would go for the original Assassin's Creed game, plus the Ezio collection. You might even find a bundle that includes the first, not quite sure here. Also, always look if the DLCs are included for the individual games. If you want to play those, but have to get them later on, you might be better off buying the games in a Game of the Year edition or something. It's what I mostly did. Battle of Forli is the main DLC for ACII, and I think the Copernicus Conspiracy is a Brotherhood DLC. Just look at the descriptions before buying the games, all the included DLC should be listed. I've never heard the additional title "The American Colonies" for ACIII, but since that's exactly where the game takes place, I'm pretty sure it's one and the same. I really can't recommend jumping in here directly, though. You'll miss out on four amazing games, all the Desmond story lines, not to mention two incredible assassin characters with Altair and Ezio. Then there's discovering the medieval Holy Land, renaissance Italy and Byzantium, of course. Too much great stuff to just skip!

ah, the Copernicus being a DLC makes perfect sense. Even if I can't find it bundled on a disc, I bet I can download it from the Playstation network after I buy the game. Yeah, I agree with you, I'm going to get the original, and the Ezio collection to start with. That should keep me busy quite a while

Hay makes me itch. I'm going to have serious problems. *lol* As you continue to play, some of the other games, while still having the hay piles, do up the variety a bit and have a few piles other than hay (AC II has some carts full of flowers, I think AC III has some carts/piles of fresh grass (not hay) it and IV also have leaf piles). For me, I actually occasionally have issues with the heights on some of the leap of faiths. I mean, I know it's a video game, I know it's not real, but dang... some of those really really really tall ones (especially in the Ezio games) make my stomach do little somersaults.

why do I have a sudden urge to watch 'The Wizard of Oz' again, right now? **If I only, had a brain** I was guessing there is lots more to follow, regarding 'faith leaps', as I don't think I am even through all the tutorials yet, just to learn what is going on in the first installment. Best return on investment ever. I have 4 new games to play, for less than a fistful of dollars, and they will keep me busy for 500 hrs or possibly much, much longer! Thanks to nillindeiel and ayanami ! p.s. 'nami, since you like this game so much, I up my recommendation to get your paws on Uncharted I'll leave you some spoiler-free info in that thread soon. And if either of you like riding horses, ya need to check out Red Dead Redemption!

Where the hell is that gif from? I'm currently playing The Witcher II and there's a small easter egg in the prologue, where you can find a dead body, dressed in Altair's assassin outfit. He's lying next to a cart full of hay and clearly didn't survive a fall/jump into it. Geralt's comment: "They never learn."

I have no idea, I just searched for "Assassin's Creed Hay gif" and it was one of the results that came up *lol* Edit: Okay, did some more digging, apparently it's from -- this "Ultimate Assassin's Creed 3 Song" by smosh--
