There is a day care right across the alley from our house. When I am working in the garage, I hear the same nursery song repeat, literally for hours. I got news for somebody..the wheels on the bus are about to have their tires slashed...just as soon as I get through breaking out all the windows....MADDENING,PURE TORTURE👹 Old MacDonald is about to have his farm foreclosed on, too. It's like they did this scene just for you!

Point 1 to vent about: Realising that a fanfiction for a twelve year old show that you haven't updates in about one and a half years is still getting more hits than the new story to the current TV show you just published! Ugh!! Point 2 to vent about: Finding out that said twelve year old TV show, Charmed, is actually getting a motherf**king re-boot this year!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, who do I have to murder for this?!? Screw you, CW, how could you??! But, hey, at least it's a diverse cast now! Because what says empowerment more than turning characters who were initially white into people of colour?! It's not like one could theoretically, just maybe create new characters/franchises or something. Noooooooooooooo!!!

It's not like one could theoretically, just maybe create new characters/franchises or something. Noooooooooooooo!!! That Charmed reboot looks awful. The cast doesn't have the chemistry of the original cast. I'm not expecting it to last too long to be honest. Tptb behind the reboot would likely say: They aren't playing the actual same characters though, technically. They have M names instead of P ones lol. They are still somewhat the same character though. Originally they weren't even going to be sisters in the reboot's first concept. Must have realized related Charmed ones works better. I still think a reboot with the original characters' offspring would have been better. However, why not be different and have boy Charmed ones, or Charmed ones where two are one gender and the third is the opposite. Or have them be triplets and state that this makes them even more powerful than regular charmed ones and they have more abilities. It looks like their powers are basically the same as the girls in the original. Oh by the way, they are rebooting Roswell too. I swear if they reboot BTVS, I'm going to scream! I wouldn't mind one about Fray (a futuristic slayer from they comics), but after Buffy shared her powers with all potentials, it would kind of be pointless to do one about another random slayer. Did you know originally they wanted to do a Faith spinoff with Spike as her companion. Eliza turned it down to do Tru Calling, I think. I could see a Faith and Spike team up show. I would have watched it for sure. Anyway, change of subject. My venting is this: it sucks when your favorite restaurant suddenly closes all its locations. My birthday lunch place recently closed (Macaroni Grill). Now I have to figure out where I want to go this year for my birthday lol. Doesn't matter where it is, no one else has that delicious blood orange tea I loved lol.

Funny how turning a character of any other ethnicity to a Caucasian is 'whitewashing' but turning a white character into something else is diversity. I took a quick look just since you mentioned it. The only time I remember going to Macaroni Grill was in Nebraska and I see they no longer have locations in that state and the only location in all of Illinois is in ORD airport of all places. It appears there are two locations in the Nashville area, but I don't know how far that is for you.

Okay touchy subject of course (whitewashing/diversity). But as a white male I'm aware that many of the comics, books and video games from my childhood were dis-proportionally white and male. Partly because there were stats to show that white boys were the main audience in a lot of cases, and thus there was a cycle where white males got into creating these genres etc. But also partly due to a lack of attention to diversity (either willful or "innocent"). I use innocent to describe things like the early days of Marvel where it was basically a bunch of white guys sitting around in Greenwich Village drawing comics. I don't believe any were actually racist (but who knows?) but certainly their exposure to women or other ethnicities was minimal at best.
So I have no issues with some ret-conning to sort of "fix" some of that.
However, I think it needs to make sense. Or maybe just not be contrary to the character. Captain America (the Steve Rogers version that fought in WWII) needs to be white. Not just white by basically arian in appearance. Part of his character is the irony that he looks like the Nazi ideal but is fighting Nazis. Making changes to Steve Rogers to make him black of female or gay could all be great twists and even add to the "screw you Nazis" thing, but that's not the point of that particular character. Making Nick Fury black or Jerry Hogarth female really doesn't change anything essential about the history of the characters (for me - I know others have specific characters they feel need to have certain elements unchanged).
So if a character is changed in an attempt to add diversity to source material that is a bit out of balance (especially if it's due in part to the source material being 60 or 70 years old) that's totally fine by me. Sometimes it can be a bit too transparent and that can be awkward, but in general I am willing to put up with a little awkwardness if it's to help balance things out.
If it's done out of some political agenda and done to an extreme then I sort of understand people getting more upset. Two wrongs don't make a right. So if someone wanted to make a black lesbian Captain America just to be extreme, I think it just works better if they do it as an alternate timeline (i.e. not Steve - or Steph - Rogers). Make it a "What If?" or another timeline or something.
Man now I kind of want to see a story where Captain America in WWII is a black woman who converts to Judaism who's shield is some sort of rainbow motif with a star of David or something.

Ugh! Just saw that the tvshowsondvd website has decided to close and go strictly to social media. Well, forget you TVSODVD! Some of us need the resource of your site because we do not want to join Twitter or FB! So, I guess from now on, I will just be periodically checking Amazon to see if my favorite shows are going to be on DVD. :sigh: I swear, sometimes it feels as if sites and games are all trying to force people to join social media bigwigs. I'm not biting. If my favorite entertainers having their own FB and Twitter accounts (the latter of which stars use to converse with fans) doesn't make me join, what makes you think your sites going only to social media (or games offering exclusive in game content for joining FB) is going to make me want to join social media? Stop trying to shove those two sites down our freaking throats already! I'm sick of it!
Also, forget you Freeform! You canceled the only show left on your network that I liked. Glad I never started watching Siren and now I refuse to watch Cloak & Dagger! So as soon as my current favorite show has aired its second half, I'm done with your channel. I mean, at least you're giving them two extra eps to finish out the story and all (which is more than you gave Stitchers and Kyle XY), but still... Furthermore, it's annoying that you say you're so proud of it and what it's accomplished, yet you cancel it. If you're so proud of it, why cancel it? Here's hoping Netflix will pick it up. The only way I will watch an ep of C&D is if Benedict Cumberbatch (as Doctor Strange) makes an appearance, which I highly doubt will ever happen.

But you know I feel you. I was there with you for Stitchers.
It is what it is, I guess. Keep the faith, Sister.

Oh, that Stitchers cliff still ticks me off, but I'm more angry with the Stitchers ptb for that than Freeform.
