I really wanted to watch it when, especially since it has Angels in it. However, I saw the pictures of one of the Angels in the show and boy did I see red! Every time I see the preview it ticks me off. Whomever had the idea to have the angel's wings go over his arms ... Just ugh! In the books, the Angels fight in the air with swords in their hands. I haven't read the books, but I was told this by someone who does. I really wanted to watch this show cause I liked True Blood. It's a darn shame that someone didn't say "wait, he needs both arms and wings". You don't mess with Angels, dang it all! I'm very particular about how their wings are done. This just looks more like talonless bird man or albino furry winged bat instead of Angel. Besides which, even if that detail didn't bother me so much, I would find this a frustration waiting to happen. Why? With how many times they changed the debut date of this show, it is very likely going to go the way of Emerald City (meaning it likely won't see a second season, at least not on NBC). The wing thing is just going to annoy me every time I watch anyway, so it's best I don't bother. I mean, they come out of his back like they should, but then take over his freaking arms. Just why? Why did they have to screw it up like that?

I just saw a new preview and the angel had both arms and wings. Either they changed it or there are two angels with long blonde hair and one only has the wings without arms. I'm confused. If they changed it, why would they still show the old preview?

So, I watched this. It wasn't bad. The angel did only have wings in this ep. However in previews, it shows him with wings and arms. So, perhaps he is cursed or injured or something? I dunno, it's weird.

I watched it. Like it. So far, Gramma is my favorite character. With all of the weird character names in this show, it took me a sec to realize you meant the grandmother lol! Yeah, she's a hoot! What is up with the names though? Lemuel sounds more like an angel name than vampire, yet the Angel is named Joe lol. I really hope that is short for something angelic sounding like Jophiel or something like that. In the books (or so I heard), Chuy was also an angel, but it doesn't seem like it's so on this show. What is up with the one girl's dad though? She's an adult and he's still trying to scare away potential suitors? Yeesh! And are the sons of Satan group Satanists or just skinhead types? I guess I'm more wondering if they are human or other. And what's with Orange Salem? Was he once a man a witch turned into a cat like on Sabrina? Or does Fiji just hear him speaking due to her powers?

Or does Fiji just hear him speaking due to her powers? "Yeah, she's a hoot!" Don't hear "hoot" very often anymore. Very apt description. Love it. Names like that are not uncommon for shows/stories of this type. Adds to the air of mystery and "biblical proportion" of the theme. Difficult to get a handle on but I'm OK with it. As for Joe, and others of his ilk, at least for the time being, my head cannon is they're using common human names so they fit in (but I'm probably wrong). I think the girls dad is so protective because they're normals(?) and he doesn't want her hooking up with midnighters. I'm sure we'll find out more in the next ep. Hard to tell about the Son's of Lucifer; whether they're midnighters or serve some other purpose. They're mean as hell though, so I think they'll be important to the story (for at least a while). The cat's pretty cool. I think one of your theories will prove out. Can't wait to see. I like how he was the comedy relief of the first ep, along with Grandma. I can't wait to see what's under the floor...........

2nd ep was good. They're not wasting their time with this show. Seems like they're in a hurry to get somewhere with it and they're motoring right along. Not sure the number of eps this will have but the pacing is similar to 10-13 ep shows. I'm not totally engrossed, but so far there's enough to keep me coming back for more. I like character driven shows and, although I can't pin-point the issue, something about this show just isn't grabbing me where the characters are involved. Maybe it's because they're focusing more on the endgame than they are on the characters? Character engagement is what makes the stakes dire in a show like this and I'm just not engaged with any of them, yet. Hopefully that will improve. The "midnighters" are predictable; leaving the Sheriff as the most intriguing character, IMO, along with the yet unseen Son of Lucifer that was married to the girl in the river. Sticking with it, hoping the show will round itself out soon. BTW, this show is written by an (ex?) AoS writer, Monica Breen.

I missed the second episode. My DVR didn't record it because it conflicted with Preacher and Stitchers. Too much on Mondays lol. I asked someone I know who watches it to leave it on their dvr so I can go over there this weekend and watch it lol. I had to cancel Preacher off my dvr and just set it on record manually (on the second airing).
Update: well, my relative forgot I asked about them keeping it and they deleted it. I couldn't watch it on the website. I had to dload the NBC app on my Amazon fire and watch the episode there.
I wonder what the writers made Chuy to be since he's obviously not an angel like in the book series. I wonder why they haven't told yet. And something is definitely happening to Joe's wings/angel magic, whatever since Chuy found that feather. I wonder if it's something like what happened with Amenadiel on Lucifer, but for a different reason of course.

Third ep was ok. They seem to be doing a freak of the week while working toward their end-game. Something still seems off about it. Doesn't feel like a show from one of the big three (excuse me, 4) networks. If this were a fall show it wouldn't go the distance, if it made the line-up at all. However, since it's a summer show I'll stick with for a while longer; but, it's not appointment TV, that's for sure.

So in this episode, Joe had wings and arms at the same time. Maybe he can fly both ways? I don't know. It's possible they realized how dumb it looked with no arms, but they didn't reshoot the scene from the pilot.
So, they are deviating from the True Blood universe (in the books both are in the same universe). Well, I don't know about the TB books, but in the show vamps died very messily when staked. Midnight went the Buffy route though. The TB way is likely too expensive. Also, in TB, the vamps had to be invited in. In midnight, they didn't. So now we know why Lem is different than other vamps. Also like on Buffy/Angel, it's a gypsy curse... Well more of a gift in midnight lol.

Why are they being so mysterious about what Kind of Supernatural Chuy is? I want to know if he too is an angel like in the books or something different. and am I the only one who wants to see a flashback scene of Lem rescuing Olivia from the men her mom/stepmom pimped her out to? Well, Bobo and Fiji finally kissed. It's about time. Creek's brother is an annoying little twerp sometimes. Her father needs to stop being a bully. She's an adult and he shouldn't dictate with whom she chooses to spend time. I'm kind of hoping her dad bites it soon. He's grating on my nerves even when he's not in the episode lol.
Did the succubus walking backwards on her hands remind anyone else of the exorcist? Lol.
