.... whether it's a picture of a cute/cuddly animal that is just too adorable for words. Or a youtube video that you just can't help but smile at no matter how sucky your day is going, or something that happens as you're walking down the street, or something really good that happened to you. Share your nuggets of happiness here I'll kick off the first post with something that I've started to see almost every day on my drive home from work for the past month or so. My commute home is about 30-40 min (depends on how I hit the traffic lights, and ever since I got in a fenderbender last fall on the freeway - I refuse to take the freeway in the afternoon (the idea makes my anxiety go through the roof) so it's the backroad/surface streets for me). About halfway through my commute, on the same stretch of road as I head south, I almost always see this girl/woman (I'd say she's either late teens maybe into her 20's) walking down the sidewalk headed north and she is listening to her music and clearly just LOVING it. Though my windows are rolled up, I can tell she's singing along and often even dancing as she walks. Every time I see her, it makes me smile to see her loving whatever music she's listening to so much

What an awesome idea for a thread! Most recently, I'd have to say something that's made me smile has been getting a store full of random strangers to play Marco Polo. :-D /When my friends and I go someplace and lose track of each other, we call out, "Marco" and listen for the missing person to yell, "Polo". As it turns out, random strangers will have fun playing along, too!

Thanks for that!

As it turns out, random strangers will have fun playing along, too! You reminded me of something that happened a few years ago, that made me and a total stranger smile big time! When we were kids, we used to play a game called Apple core-Baltimore. For those that don't know, (I'm curious to know who has heard of it/played it)It works like this: Kid A finishes eating an apple..he holds it up and yells "APPLE CORE"Kid B, who was the fastest to respond, knowing the possible consequences of being too slow, yells out "BALTIMORE"
Kid A then yells, "Who's your friend!?"Kid B yells, "Kid C!" Kid A then gets to throw the apple core at Kid C and try to bean them with it.( or D, or E, whoever got picked out) Anyway, I was in a Batteries Plus store a while back, a friend (about 20 yrs. younger than me) happened to be working at the register, and was waiting on a quite elderly man, at least 90, if not more. They had a variety of little novelty key chain LED flashlights on the counter, and one of them was shaped like an apple core. I picked it up and hollered Apple Core!, curious if my friend would know what I was talking about. Instead, the old guy instantly YELLS out, BALTIMORE!. He and I started laughing so hard we couldn't talk! He said he had not heard that in 60 years or more! My friend just looked at us like we were both nuts!

I'm probably going to also put this girl in the female vocalists thread. She was 10 when this video was made, 14 now. I'm keeping an eye on her. I think she has the potential to be a superstar.

I love being out in the wilderness. Camping, hiking, swimming, taking pictures of beautiful scenery, these are the things I love the most. I also love using a telescope to view the beauty of the universe.

I just found this, but I think it qualifies: Great story, beren44 , btw! It's always a great feeling when you can suddenly connect to a random stranger about something, even if it's just for a moment.

The music threads here bring a smile to my face. Either y'all post something good or I come across something I had forgotten when I am looking for songs to post.

So, granted, it did not happen to me, but it still made me smile (in part because I'm pretty sure that this took place in my state given the description of the Shakespeare festival on the other end of the state and being near four national parks (and if by some miracle you have never seen the Hobbits to Isengard video that's the source of this meme [behold]Here's another happy/smiley video for this Monday (ugh) morning: Dog is all... I don't want any stick but THIS stick, and you can't change my mind:
