You're now going to watch Angel? No, I doubt it. I gave Buffy and Angel both a try, back when they aired. Just didn't get into it. Too 'teeny' for me. Remember, I am the old man of this forum. And, I fell in love with Firefly, and Dollhouse, even before I knew Joss Whedon was the producer of both, I had never even heard of him.. And Amy Acker was one of his 'go to' actresses. But it was Summer Glau that sucked me in. AND HERE I STAY. I want her on AoS SO much!~ I refused to watch Firefly. To me Joss abandoned BtVS for making Firefly and the quality of BtVS dropped significantly. When he suddenly came back for the final arc to intervene he practically destroyed it. Giving nothing anymore for the main characters that made show and only interested in spin-off possibilities. IMO. Besides that, I never watch shows if it hasn' t at least four seasons. That's why I never watched Dollhouse or Veronica Mars. I wanted to watch Dollhouse perhaps because of Eliza Dushku though. And very sad they dropped Veronica Mars. That show really had potential.I know you are the Methos, I mean the old man, of this group, but I was beyond my teens as well when Buffy started to air Oh, and Amy Acker as Illyria in AtS is phenomenal. You are in for a treat. Best character of the show IMO.

When that suddenly ends it feels like murder to me. And I have watched too many shows that were dropped after one season or even in its first season, so I made the decision to let it have at least four seasons before I am going to watch it. I made an exception to this show, because I thought it would certainly get four seasons. With the movies and whatnot.

As for Firefly; yes, it did end too quickly, but I thought they got a really good send-off in the movie. So at least there's that.

No agent Carter indeed. Not yet watched it.
Might still watch it though if I am really desperate for the lack of AoS. But since S2 isn't hailed as good as S1 it put a bit bummer for that on it as well.

Sorry your pants are in a wad over Joss apparently abandoning his earlier work. At the time while Buffy was on the air, I had a girl friend who rushed home to see it, every week. I just never got into it. Yet, if you have that as a premise to not watch Firefly or Dollhouse, you are missing out on some really, really good stuff! Seriously, do you really require 4 seasons to even give a show a chance? What's up with that?

The storylines are nice and tight. Great show!

For that matter, anything with Hayley Atwell is hard to argue with

One of my friend is a Whedonian, he saw all of Joss's work i think (Buffy,Angel, Firefly,Serenity, Dollhouse, Avengers 1&2, The Cabinet in the Woods as writer and Much Ado About Nothing) He seems passionate about it, i'm going to watch everything one day....If I can find the time! I've watched obviously the Avengers movies, the only thing left i've seen on the list is The Cabin in the Woods, it was pretty interesting! Can't believe Dr. Horrible was left out.

But then again, some people are baffled when I say HP or Twilight is too kiddish/teenish for me, so... I guess it's all according to one's tastes. Buffy is probably one of my all time absolute favorite shows. Angel was really just kind of meh most of the time. I didn't watch the Firefly show because it was on the same time as something else I was already watching at the time. I did see the movie though. I watched Dollhouse some, not sure if I saw all of the episodes or not.

S2, was.... different..... and did end on a cliffhanger. Firefly is a ton-o-fun. Consider it a 10.25 hour movie with a 2 hr sequel (Serenity). With the Serenity movie, they do a great job of closing it out.

The storylines are nice and tight. Great show! What's filler? Less filler doesn't necessarily make it better for me. Less episodes does make it less for me. I need many episodes to get into a show. I know that less episode is in fave right now. But I still need my 20+ episodes a season. AoS did it smart now with three pods. That works very nice. Not everything is about arclines and high functional density. Filler episodes are still important IMO. The characters and the realm they live in are important to me. That needs exploration and giving depth. Episodes like The Hub, Bad Seeds, 2477 hours are very important as they show character depth and character bonding. But some would call them fillers. An arcline without content is meaningless. I could get into Carter though. Since much of the stuff has already been build up.
