As a piano player, my ears are always quick to pick up the piano part in any song. The piano in this song rocks. The guitar playing is great too, but I love that piano part. My first concert. Doobies and War, 1974 (I think..... it was a long time ago) I've got a true story for you. China Grove is actually a real town, just a bit southeast of San Antonio, down some farm-to-market backroad highways. We had some friends who lived out there. The wife's name was Eva. One night, she was all alone and driving home way, WAY too fast, and got pulled over by a state trooper. She rolled down her window, and the officer said, "Ma'm, do you have a racing license?" To which she replied, "As a matter of fact, I do!" She reached in her purse and pulled out a complete-with-photo ID, from the go-kart/funhouse chain of amusement parks that used to be around here, named MALIBU GRAN PRIX. Right across the top, it says 'RACING LICENSE' (they made you sign a waiver, and actually took your picture and gave you an ID to be able to drive the go-karts. They were quite fast!) The officer laughed so hard, he just told her to slow it down, and she got out of getting a ticket! (and she was doing around 90 mph in a 55 mph zone!)

It's north of Charlotte.
Another true story. A cop pulled somebody over for speeding. He walked up to the car and used that old line, "Who do you think you are, Mario Andretti?" Mario replied, "Yeah, it's me."

BTW, I used to have a racing license. I spent a few years working as a pit man for a couple of local drivers at Greenville Pickens Speedway. You had to have a NASCAR license to get a pit pass, and since a drivers license was the same price as a pit crew license, I got the drivers license. I never drove in a race, but one of my drivers did let me take his car out for a few laps one time during afternoon practice. My lap times weren't anything to brag about. I never considered showing my racing license to a cop.

It wasn't really a contest, I just don't much care for These Eyes and thought I would find something I like better. After that I decided I didn't want to ignore the other bands, and well once I saw Ophelia...

Was actually going to go with American Woman but switched to These Eyes at the last minute. Won't Get Fooled Again is actually one of my all time favorite Who songs but I went with My Generation because of the generation gap jokes that occasionally happen around here. As for The Band........ c'mon............... Up On Cripple Creek is an all time classic (I understand your affinity for Ophelia, though)
