I submitted a goof for the episode on IMDb - When Simmons activates that pulse that knocks out all electronics including Coulson and the Chronicoms, Yo-Yo's robotic arms still work without interruption.

Jemma Simmons , that was ambitious of you to impersonate Ms. Carter.

Didn’t really get around to write anything for the previous episode, so I’ll cover some of those points here instead. Which isn’t really hard to do, since many of those plot point carried over into this week’s episode. - First of all, I hated Skye telling Deke to shoot Freddy last week on SO MANY levels. First of all, she’s not in charge. I might not be happy about Mack being director, but the fact remains that he IS. Plus, Skye has already proven before that she makes for a terrible leader, so what the hell was she thinking giving that order despite literally everyone else disagreeing?? Not to mention the tiny detail that killing Freddy was EXACTLY what the Chronicoms were trying to achieve, which she was fully aware of!! But, hey, sure, Skye definitely has a better understanding of the repercussions of that action than the race of sentient super computers. Also, screw her for trying to turn Deke into an assassin! I mean, sure, he was certainly excited at the prospect of becoming part of SHIELD, but murdering an unarmed civilian – an ally even, up until that point – was definitely not what he signed up for. I’m just glad that he called her out on that BS. And also that they finally acknowledged how much Deke has changed since they first met him in the Lighthouse in the future. He has certainly become a better person since then. As far as Skye is concerned, I’m not so sure. - Clark got to show off some of his fighting skills! Good for him. And for us, really! I bet he had a blast filming this episode, and probably this season in general. I mean, as much as actors probably love to portray their characters evolve over the years, it always seems like Clark really enjoys playing goofball Coulson and he hadn’t really had a chance to do that in quite a while. I still think that bringing in an LMD is a fricking cheap cop-out by the writers, but, oh well… The character is just too much fun to be really mad about it. - Another thing that already annoyed me last week and carried over into this one: What the hell, Yo-Yo?!? Okay, so her speed is messed up after her being infected by the Shrike. Got it. Whether this problem is actually physiological or at least in part psychological remains to be seen, but that is not my issue. My issue is, why the hell she doesn’t do anything about it?? After that close call with the Chronicoms last episode, where she first froze up, there was PLENTY of time for her to test her ability in a safe environment, to see if she could get it to work at all. But she didn’t do that. Neither did she do that this episode or had herself get checked out by Simmons, to see if she could find out what is wrong. Instead she just waited until another crucial moment to try her powers and find out – once again – that they’re still not working. Great job, really. - In that same vein – and also in regards to me not liking Mack as director – just HOW THE HELL is May back in the field? Literally everyone is loudly noting that she is not behaving like herself since she was brought back. The whole team also saw how she had almost dismantled Enoch last episode and yet she’s trusted to go out on a delicate mission basically just minutes later? Just… how?? - Yay, Sousa!!!!!!! Great guest appearance and just how awesome was him busting Simmons?? I might not have always been the biggest fan of the Agent Carter show, due to several issues I have with it, but Daniel Sousa (and Enver Gjokaj’s portrayal of him) has always been an absolute delight. Hey, Jemma Simmons , we’re gonna watch Agent Carter once we’re through with the movies, right?!? Makes me wonder, though, are we already in the altered timeline where Cap came back and lived out his live with Peggy? Or was Sousa never the guy she married after all? (Or is AoS even still part of the MCU canon at this point?) - Simmons and especially Coulson questioning the scientists and the people on the bus was the best part of a very solid episode imo. That poor old lady and the story with the turtle. Oh my god! - Almost as funny: Deke’s face when Mack pretended to be an alien and threatened that one dude with probes! Skye would have loved that one! - I also continue to dig the time travel retro charme. That whole 50s setting (including the awesome “title card”!) was amazing, and I appreciate that despite the nostalgia that had infected some characters more than others (*cough* Coulson *cough*), they also continued to point out the issues of the time. Sometimes even hilariously so. May’s deadpan “He called my an oriental” actually had me laugh out loud! So, yeah, all in all I really enjoyed the episode, but honestly, it’s about damn time that they bring Fitz back already! *mumbles* StupidIaindoingotherstupidprojectswhatthehellman *mumbles* I WOULD, however, accept as an apology an episode of Fitz hanging out with Hunter (and Bobbi) in a way to explain his absence from the team. You, know, for hiding purposes and stuff! (Or really just as an excuse to hang out, drink beer and bitch about football. )

I have to say I am thoroughly enjoying this season. Maybe the best season so far since season 3 or 4. It feels a lot more back to basics. A plot you can actually follow without using a diagram to understand where its all going (but I know, its only three episodes so far ). But it was just fun! Loved the whole 50's vibe and red-scare paranoia. It's amazing how great the production values look. I know they cut this show's budget down over the years but you barely notice it. And I just loved seeing Sousa back. Ironically THIS is the kind of cross over stuff I was hoping to get when Agent Carter was a show and see these kinds of connections. Jemma pretending to be Agent Carter, brilliant touch! Speaking of which, I thought there was a rumor Agent Carter herself was going to be back on the show? Maybe that's all it was, a rumor but it would make sense to do obviously so I'm hoping it happens. But this season is just a lot more fun. I wish they went this direction last season but two time travel seasons back-to-back probably felt a bit too much. But yes, where the hell is Fitz? I don't understand why he isn't there in general? Was it a creative decision or was the actor just busy again like in season 4 and this is a way to write him out for now?

The explanation given on the show is so thin, it hardly makes any sense to me. Plus, Fitz is such a beloved character (and rightfully so!) that I can't see the writers putting him on hold voluntarily. As to Agent Carter showing up, I still hope she will and they're just keeping it very well under wraps. So far, Hayley always seemed to enjoy every chance to get back into that character. Plus, she's been on AoS before, so I would assume she'd like to contribute to giving the show a great send-off. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

It was nice yeah and i can't remember when Peggy was in AoS damn it was probably ages ago. oh wait i think i have pieces that comes back, it was in a flashback right?
Tho i must say i was a little pissed that both Yo-yo AND suddenly May became at the same exact time completely useless.
I know they have issues but that was a low cheap way to make the situation harder for them.

May’s deadpan “He called my an oriental” actually had me laugh out loud! I'm quite the opposite. May is plenty old enough (because she's got a couple years on me) to remember quite well that 'Oriental' was the proper term of the era. There wasn't a push to use 'Asian' instead until around 1990. I also find the problem with 'Oriental' to be absurd as the main argument against it is, "I'm not a rug." I know quite a few people who call themselves Polish and not a single one of them is worried about being mistaken for a sausage. Bottom line, I find May having a problem with being called 'Oriental' to be really stupid, even in the face of the argument that she's not acting like her normal self.

I know they have issues but that was a low cheap way to make the situation harder for them. She was on the show twice in season 2. Once in the opening scene of the season in a flashback where she captures Whitehall back in 1945 and also finds the diviner (declaring it the first 0-8-4). And then again in episode 8 "The Things We Bury" in a couple of flashback where we see her interrogate Whitehall. Yeah, both May and Yo-Yo both becoming useless was stupid. In fact, it was EXTRA stupid, because both of their issues were known, at least to Mack, and yet he still sent them on the mission.

Well, I don't want to start an argument about what someone might have found offensive or not at what times during the 20th century. I really don't know enough about the subject to have an opinion here. But I do want to say that the "orient" is not a country. Poland is. So that's not really a sound comparison, is it?

I bet if she was on set that word would have leaked about it by now, though. I wonder if she had a scheduling conflict or something along those lines because you're right. She always seems more than happy to jump back into the part whenever they ask.

Agents of SHIELD 703 random thoughts... Last week's recap showed Enoch, so I think chances are good we'll see him again. I wonder how much Enoch has influenced the creation of SHIELD, considering he's a bartender at Koenig's place, a future SHIELD hang out... Heh. Convenient that he'd be gone for the EMP... New title card. Science fiction vibe, lol... So of course, we're at Area 51. Area 51 was purported to be established in 1955. One guys says they've been there for a couple of years, so... Well, it was a secret base, right? So it's easier for the Zephyr to move forward in time, since they're following the wake of the Chronicoms. The team doesn't know what the Chronicom's ship looks like. If it turns out to be a police booth, I'll be very disappointed... It does beg the question how did the team get transported from current day to 1931? Yes, Yo-Yo can't yo-yo. They did show her starting to, so maybe shes getting better. Or it's psychological and she needs her metal arms. Either way, I almost didn't recognize her in the diner. And May had a panic attack. Broken May and Broken Yo-Yo make a fine pair, and they don't want to talk about it. Here's a problem that I hope doesn't continue. Every time they jump in time, they have to establish an entirely new set of characters and backgrounds. This takes up a lot of time. For instance, even if Souza is a crossover, they still have to give his back story for those who hadn't seen Agent Carter. Speaking of Agent Carter (and lol at the fake accent joke), it is nice to see the crossover. Yes, making Jemma portray Peggy was creative, but it would have been much more amusing to have had a face to face with Atwell. I'm unsure about that ID card Jemma had. Did they have the plastics for a card like that at that time? (I'll stop being anal about anachronisms now, lol...) Next time, they should just take each person into a room, stick him/her with a pin, and be done with it. Robo-Coulson and Simmons going through those little personal "1955" interrogations was a little overdone, especially by the time Coulson got to the bus. And the John Wayne bit, lol... I did appreciate the anti-commie stereotypical feel of 1955, probably something we should revive against Pooh and the current CCP, but I digress again... (<-- Barely concealed political propaganda. Sorry about that, lol.) Daisy's still hell bent on killing Malick. She has this "Can't see the forest for the trees" problem. I wonder if at some point she'll succeed, only to find out Gideon's been already born, and makes him more bitter against SHEILD. Too bad Powell passed away. And the ending... Mack: Earthing. You will not reveal what you've seen here today, or the next time we abduct you, you will be... (glances at Deke) Probed. (Deke smiles. I think I actually did laugh out loud...) I hope I'm wrong, but three eps in and this season is looking predictable. There needs to be one of those infamous plot twists soon. A couple more jumps will probably put them into the (younger) lifetimes of the team. I hope that's not where they're going... Lessee, 10 more eps means about 420 minutes. 7 hours. Spoiler based on the 30-second preview over the credits... So Sousa supposedly dies at the hands of Hydra. There isn't any real way to identify bodies in 1955. No DNA tracing yet. They could substitute another body, and take Sousa on as another agent this season. Wouldn't that be fun... Edit: Images now have to come from an https source? Can't find a way around it. The images show up when composing/editing the messages, but not in the forum itself. Wish they'd announce these changes...

I consider this speculation rather than spoiler about Souza, but the leaked photo with the bicycles showed the bike for Enver right next to the one for Iain and it seems doubtful that Fitz is just going to pop up in 1955.
Now, there may be a spoiler in this video, but I know you'll all click because it reveals how Enver Gjokaj pronounces his name:

If the Chronicom's ship does turn out to be blue box, there better be a Chronicom that looks like Fitz, but has the Framework personality of Fitz implanted in it. The only thing that makes any sense is that maybe she's still bent all out of shape about the ass kicking she got from Gideon when he had the robotic arm enhancements.
