I just can't believe there isn't some chatter going on here yet. I have not seen it , but 2 days, and no comments? Get your priorities straight, people...I wanna know what I am missing!

From what I'm hearing the movie isn't going over very well. Too much SJW crap. If I went, it would just be to see the Stan Lee cameo. As it is, I'm trying to rein in all unnecessary spending. I'll just save my money.

I haven't had time to go to one of the few OV showings yet, but I'll hopefully have a chance to see it this week. I'll be sure to post some impressions when I do. From what I heard it's pretty fun.
Either way, I'm glad it's finally out and this insane hate campaign against Brie Larson takes a backseat now that people can focus on the actual movie.

nillindeiel saw it yesterday (per Twitter) and I did as well (separately of course). I didn't really get any SJW vibe at all, though clearly it's inspiring to girls/women. I didn't love it like some of the other MCU films but it's very good. I think even I'm getting comic book movie fatigue. Ties into the MCU story well IMO and some great action scenes. A few little things I would have done differently or omitted but that's common. I know some critics/people have panned it but I think mostly those are people going in looking to dislike it. I went in trying to love it and came out having enjoyed it but not blown away. I will probably see it again before passing my final judgement on it.

I'll just save my money. As I expected, it didn't take long for the cameo to reach YouTube. I heard it took 15 takes for her to get that close to a smile, but not from an official source. I'm also not sure why they played it twice.

Not a spoiler for the film itself but I'll tag it if anyone wants the surprise in the intro to the movie: I love how they tweaked the Marvel logo opening into Stan's cameos and some candid shots of him with cast members. My audience gave a huge round of applause when the "thank you Stan" came up.

There's a couple of good moments for him of course and a few little nods to how he ends up being so important to Fury, but anyone going in hoping this will be Coulson's glorious return to the MCU will be disappointed. Though on the flip side (maybe this isn't a good thing) the movie itself sort of has an AoS feel to it. Maybe it's the Kree involvement but it almost felt like an AoS film in parts.

OH haxemon , I am either going to curse you thrice, or dance at your wedding. What a fitting end to the debate of 'its all connected' it would be, to have a full length feature film of AoS featuring our favorites, after s7 is done; complete with whoever is left over after Avengers:End Game. The thought of what could be accomplished with big studio money just makes me feel all squishy inside. And every actor on the show has grown enough to stand their own in a real movie. That would be SUCH a treat!

If they don't I'm sure someone will fan-fic something where Coulson is the one Danvers looks for in Fury's absence and he's the bridge between her and the remaining Avengers (and others) if there's no instant trust between everyone.

When has there ever been "instant trust"............? Now THAT would be a new angle for the MCU/MTU to try.

Saw it opening day. Really liked it but like others, I'm exhausted with the Iron Man/Cap America/Thor (pick one or more combinations in 14 of the 19 MCU films) over the past 10 years. Deadpool 1 was original, DP2 was more of the same. Ant-Man, again, original. But the I/C/T combo has hit it's limit with me. Definitely more weight with the Kree/Skrull storyline, which was refreshing. Did not like the mohawk hair style on the space suit - thought it was stupid. But how else can you identify the lead character?
Most of the audience cheered with the Stan Lee Marvel opening - definitely well deserved. I'm expecting to see Monica Rambeau (daughter) character shows up in a future MCU/MTU, now that it's 20 years later. Loved the Flerken.

It’s going to be a while until I can get to it, so it’s great to hear most people like it overall. Welcome to the boards!

Welcome! I still like the big three as I think they've evolved a bit each film, but I do agree that it's fun to see something fresh/new as well. I also got the idea that the young girl character will be part of the future.

With the exception of IM3, I've thoroughly enjoyed them over the years. I also echo hax's and Jemma Simmons's: WELCOME !!!!!!!!!! (Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwbbbbbbiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeee!) And, oh yeah - The Flerken was a riot.
