This is sort of what I was thinking/hoping. Friday's AoS will include some really painful "poofs" and that's why season 6 can't really start until after A4 (or maybe around the same time). I know it's unprecedented really but if there was ever a time to strategically do a half season but keep making more seasons after, this would be it. Lol, and here I was just going to say that I caught myself on the IW spoiler and ask if you could do the same. Beat me to it!

ABC upfronts are today and here's the latest on AoS S6: They're saying it'll be a mid-season run. Not surprising as it worked this year and the shortened season will need to start late to tie in with Avengers 4, if it actually does. ew.com/tv/2018/05/15/abc-fall-schedule-2018-19/Hopefully we'll get more news later today....... Okay, so either they updated the article, or you read that wrong. They're saying Agents of Shield will be a SUMMER RELEASE, meaning it won't come out until AFTER Avengers 4!!!!!!! Alright, calling it now: Coulson will go *poof*! Also, with that release date, I'm actually willing to admit that a season 7 might (teeny tiny, super careful might) actually still be in the cards. EDIT: Or, Coulson actually survives the season finale and either May or Skye disintegrate, prompting Coulson to get in touch with the movie people again to help against Thanos to bring back the people he loves. They revised the article. It'll be a long wait, but it'll be interesting to see SHIELD post-A4. Jemma Simmons is going to have some seriously bruised and painful toes......

Okay, so if it's not gonna air until after Avengers 4, then Anyone can turn to dust. However, if the close future scenes are anything to go by, everyone was there except Phil, Mack and Daisy... Well, Piper and Davis too. So, does Talbot kill Polly or does she go poof?

The seasons just keep getting better, so it’ll be worth the wait. Also, it’ll give the actors a chance to book some other gigs. Also, there will be plenty of time to watch S1-5! 😄 (Remind me of this when I keep asking if it’s 2019 yet!)

It started pretty 'meh', but I'm utterly hooked after the last few eps.

Interesting that no one is saying it's the final season. Is S6 shortened because of Avengers 3, and will revived after Avengers 4? I'm still wondering if I should try to get out to see IW before the finale. Even reading the renewal articles, I can't avoid spoilers... I need to quote this so I can pat myself on the back. I mean, even a broken clock is correct twice a day... Agents of SHIELD Renewed for Season 6, Won't Return in 2018

I'll admit, I hadn't dared to hope at first. Never have I ever been more happy about being proven wrong!

On the negative side (just to keep things balanced) this will be a long wait from Saturday until A4 without any AoS in between.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they do something like that. I’m also not surprised we’re getting a shortened season. I suspect those negotiations were keeping the renewal announcement from coming. I also strongly suspect Disney had to stong-arm ABC into renewal again. They may claim they love the show, but the fact that they treat it like a red-headed stepchild says otherwise. I think this will likely be the last season on ABC. The good news is that if that is the case, they can take the show to the Disney streaming that’s coming. They can also migrate the characters onto other Marvel properties. Even if the show does end up canceled, I’m positive we’ll see it live on in some form. Meanwhile, I’m going to prepare to buckle up for yet another awesome season! 😄

Meanwhile, I’m going to prepare to buckle up for yet another awesome season! 😄 Something to keep in mind about Disney. Brand Awareness. It's why Mickey Mouse still has a marketing campaign, even though he's one of the most recognizable icons in the world. Even if ABC is kicking and screaming that it doesn't want AoS on, I think Iger (or other power that be) is going to step in and push the brand. I'm sure Dungey could say no, but I'm sure Dungey likes her job, too. Since ABC doesn't seem to do a re-run season anymore, it's not like her summer prime-time slots are packed full. (I'm probably repeating myself here. Sorry.) I still expect some sort of weekly Star Wars show on if they can figure out how to make it work. (Star Wars is too effects heavy, which is why it's been sequestered to animation so far, and Pixar wouldn't be able to keep schedule without a sever reduction in quality.) We'll have to see how well Cloak and Dagger does on Freeform, though I can't believe AoS would be moved to one of Disney's lesser cable channels. So I'm a bit more optimistic than you. I think AoS has a pretty good future so long as Marvel Studios keeps it's winning pace, and so long as the MCU allows it (storywise).
