....You beat me to it....
1:46pm Central Time, Monday May 14th. The day and time the entire AoS fandom breathed a collective sigh of relief.

Sounds like we’re getting a proper send-off then!

Interesting that no one is saying it's the final season.
Is S6 shortened because of Avengers 3, and will revived after Avengers 4?
I'm still wondering if I should try to get out to see IW before the finale. Even reading the renewal articles, I can't avoid spoilers...

This is a bittersweet yay. Yay because it's coming back. But the number is limited. If this was a Netflix series, this would be fine. But it sounds like AoS might be in it's final season. Looks like this and Gotham are gonna end in 2019.

I think with all the swirl in the MCU related to IW that the 13 episodes could just be part of that. They might have some other 13-episode show to balance it out or it might start after A4 or something like that. I'm not too worried that 13 episodes means it's less likely to get a season 7.

As much as I like your optimism, that would be a HUGE first, to have a shorter season on purpose, other than it being the final send-off, in order to overlap better with the movies. I'll admit, there's lots of stuff in the MCU that's a first, starting with AoS very own S1 and the way it was influenced by the events of The Winter Soldier, but until there's any announcement that would imply the possibility of a S7 order, I'm gonna assume S6 is going to be the last one. So, obviously I'm really happy to have another Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season, but for now the short season order has me laughing on one eye, crying on the other. Well, now that that's settled, I'll just have to keep banging my head on the table while waiting on news for Krypton...

This is great news! If I'd lost this one on top of Lucifer, I would cry.

The previous seasons before were 20+ episodes, the final season of that show was 6 episodes. We can even go further back to the 80s when the original Transformers series forth and final season only had 3 episodes. Yeah, this reduced episode number can only mean one thing, cancellation or send-off. Kinda means Season 7's not gonna be a thing.

ABC upfronts are today and here's the latest on AoS S6: They're saying it'll be a mid-season run. Not surprising as it worked this year and the shortened season will need to start late to tie in with Avengers 4, if it actually does. ew.com/tv/2018/05/15/abc-fall-schedule-2018-19/Hopefully we'll get more news later today.......

Okay, so either they updated the article, or you read that wrong. They're saying Agents of Shield will be a SUMMER RELEASE, meaning it won't come out until AFTER Avengers 4!!!!!!! Alright, calling it now: Coulson will go *poof*! Also, with that release date, I'm actually willing to admit that a season 7 might (teeny tiny, super careful might) actually still be in the cards. EDIT: Or, Coulson actually survives the season finale and either May or Skye disintegrate, prompting Coulson to get in touch with the movie people again to help against Thanos to bring back the people he loves.

This is sort of what I was thinking/hoping. Friday's AoS will include some really painful "poofs" and that's why season 6 can't really start until after A4 (or maybe around the same time). I know it's unprecedented really but if there was ever a time to strategically do a half season but keep making more seasons after, this would be it.
