I mean that if someone's favorite were a subordinate, like Lt. Reginald Barclay as opposed to Geordi for TNG, that should be a valid option. I do not know DS9 and Voyager well enough to include all their engineers, chief or not, in a poll of that sort in all honesty. One clue: Chief engineer of DS9 was also an engineer of Next Generation.

Alright, I *know* Miles O'Brien was the engineer on DS9. But I don't know anyone else who worked with him (partially because of the 7 seasons of DS9 I've seen at most 20 episodes.) I also know the engineer on Voyager was a half Klingon female former member of the Maquis, named Torres. But, I don't know any of the engineers that worked under her. So, I can only do a poll with Chief engineers, not *all* (recurring) engineers.

You don't even know about my favorite character of the whole Star Trek realm? Our friendly Ferengi Nog. Now, when he makes it to captain. And he will. He will be the best captain ever Well, no surprise you don't know when you only watched 20 episodes.

On the 'Captains' thread, Nillindeiel said it would be harder to pick a first officer so I decided to go ahead and make a First Officer poll. For me, William T. (the Red not the Yellow) Riker blows all the others straight out of the non-existing water. Funnily enough, Spock and T'Pol are fighting a battle with logic over who takes second. (It's funny because Vulcans are my least liked species). I'll go with Riker (with beard) even though I like Spock better overall. I decided to take the poll literally and I really think of Riker first when the term "first officer" comes up. I always think of Spock as more of an equal to Kirk.

Spock was by far the most complex character and as was once said the most human. Without a doubt, but T'Pol is far the hottest I agree, and put my money where my mouth is. I voted for her, LOL. Jolene Blalock has never looked better in real life, or in character, as she did as a Vulcan

Frankly I don't really consider any of the First Officers hot although Spock and Riker were certainly handsome. Hotness implies a certain beefcake factor and I will have to ponder who achieves that in the Star Trek universe.

He's actually a bit too muscular for my taste; nevertheless I just started watching Black Sails just for Zach McGowan. A bit less muscle and no stupid Russian accent. Win-win!

Well he was certainly better before he was a floating head. It's not really about the muscles so much as whether or not you would say "Oh myyy" if his shirt got ripped off in a fight scene, or he's dressed up in a tux, or just repairing a car in a t shirt and a nice pair of jeans (yes I'm thinking Dean Winchester there).

And this is the point where my mind went straight to Dean Winchester, too. We really do think alike!

Otherwise I don't see a difference between his first scene and that last one, four episodes later. Going back to 2014, the first season of Black Sails, though, is a visible change. And I'm not just talking about the hair.

I really should ask money for it next time

This comment reminds me of those horrible scenes in Enterprise where the crew members had to go through decontamination, a.k.a. oiling each other in their underwear. Did they really have to add such blatantly cheap fanservice?
