After following the marketing for Ragnarok so far, I think I can guess what might happen. First, it will have a lively tone compared with GOTG more than the other Thor movies. It will have a blend of the Ragnarok and Planet Hulk storylines, with the special MCU flavor that works. Comic fans who are familiar with both stories will attack the movie for not being fully faithful to either comic storyline. Just like many attacked Civil War. My suggestion to fans is to enjoy it for what it is, a story and a movie with hints from Ragnarok, Planet Hulk, and more. If Marvel Studios wants to avoid the backlash, they can follow the Chinese marketting and change the title to Thor 3: Battle Royale. Everyone will accept it. But I doubt they'll change it, and I'm OK with it. I've learnt to trust MCU stories, and they haven't failed me yet. Some have been less than expected for me, but they turned out OK. Also, Thor's haircut follows him to Infinity War. Sayanora, Thor's hair. We'll miss you. But Thor looks cooler. I wonder if we'll see Sif and Jane. Anyhoo... What are your Thor Ragnarok predictions? Thoughts? Do share.

As a comedy I think it will do well and may very well reach a wider audience that is unfamiliar with Thor and Norse mythology. Thor being one of my favorites from childhood means that I will have to push my memories aside and hopefully, hopefully take this one as a very successful one-off of the character. Thor and Loki as Bing Crosby and Bob Hope isn't what I want for the End of Days of Asgard via Ragnarok. I'll laugh at it but it won't have meaning or gravitas. That's just me....
