If you want to you can skip this long synopsis of a conversation I had with my grandparents.
[Today I was eating a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and watching episode 4 of Star Trek:Discovery when my grandparents came home from eating breakfast.
My step-grandpa told me that he watched episode one of DIS on TV and didn't like it but that's okay because he doesn't want to watch something on a small screen (cue story about the 50's era TV he grew up with).
I told him that the show gets better (and that
I then went on to explain that the downstairs TV is a SMART TV and asked him if he would watch the rest of the show if I got it to connect to CBSAllAcccess.
He said no because he doesn't 'stream'.
I replied that he'd have to 'stream' eventually because satellite and cable are going the way of the landline.
My grandma then chimed in asking what streaming is.
I told her that it's watching TV over the internet and that millions of people have already gotten rid of their cable and satellite because you can watch pretty much anything these days with streaming and for way cheaper.
Then I told her how much I pay for Netflix and CBSAllAcccess (which I started last night. Yes I did watch that episode of 'Touched By An Angel' with CG before DIS) and explained that you can also get HULU which lets you watch a brand new episode of something the very next day after it premieres.
My grandparents consume more TV on a daily basis than I do, or anyone else I know, and they sometimes fight over the DVR space because they both want to watch something else on a different channel but in the same time slot. They both watch separate TVs and that space adds up after a while so I've been trying to convince them to get with the times and try out HULU (It's one subscription I don't have, but also I think they'd get use out of it.)]
YOU CAN READ NOW IF YOU SKIPPED ALL THAT!
This got me thinking: Have any of you 'cut the cord?'
I can't say that I have *technically* because I don't live in my own house and have no control or say in the utilities, but I only watch either Netflix, Amazon Video, CBSALLACCCESS now, or Microsoft Movies and TV.
I only watch either CBS or ABC so I use an antennae.
If you have cut the cord, what subscriptions do you use the most or prefer?

the ship it starts with blows up. This is a man who doesn't mind spoilers that much.
