After watching episode 16, we can obviously lay large parts of this argument to rest, concerning the point at which Hydra came out into the open. What I have to say, though, is: Shame on all of us!

Here we've been, discussing how much Coulson's influence changed the events of the MCU, or if things have been altered all the way back to Cap in WWII, and yet nobody(!) on this entire board (and I'm sure I've read every single thread) had figured out how much of an impact changing Bahrain could have had!
