I'll be watching Discovery tonight. Do you know if they'll release all at once or if it will be week-to-week?

I'm recording the first ep on broadcast CBS tonight. Personally, I hope it sucks. I live in a no-stream world and these stream only shows are starting to piss me off.......

I’m enjoying it enough to start episode two... YMMV. It didn't suck dammit (I didn't really think it would). Visually stunning, but there's a bit of a snooze factor at times. Would definitely would watch the entire season if it weren't a streaming only show. Oh, well............. on to things I can actually watch.

I'm gonna watch the first two episodes tonight and will leave my impression here. I really hope it's good, although I've already a few not-so-good remarks on the net (usually combined with "I'd rather watch The Orville than this."). But we'll see.
Strangely enough, I just now (or rather, when I saw the TNG Honest Trailer earlier) realised how weird it is to me in a way to watch a Star Trek TV show in English. I've been watching Star Trek since I was a kid, so obviously watching the original versions was out of the question. Not that that would have been an option in the beginning anyway, what with DVDs not around yet and pretty much everything in Germany getting dubbed. Nowadays I watch basically everything in English, including the reboot movies, but none of the TV shows so far.
German Star Trek fun fact: For some reason the German dubbing team back in the sixties had decided to translate the famous Vulcan saying "Live long and prosper" with "Leben Sie lange und in Frieden" ("Live long and in peace"), which was only changed to the correct translation when the reboot hit the silver screen in 2009. I was shocked, I tell ya! I had no idea!

Okay, I gotta say, I really like the show! Visually it's gorgeous! It's like Star Trek and Mass Effect had a hot steaming one-night-stand and now made a baby. As for the "snooze factor" that DoTheMath called out, I did see that in some of the Klingon scenes. Yeah, if we could not spend 10 minutes per episode in the future reading Klingon off the screen, that'd be great! Plus, would it be too much to ask for the species to look the same as it did in the last instalment of the franchise for once? Yeah, I know there's an in-universe explanation, but still, I find it rather annoying. And, no, Michael is not a proper women's name! I don't care that it's the future, I don't care that there are real-life examples of women with that name, and I don't care that the show's creator has a history of doing that (Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies; just that in those cases the male names were nicknames!), it's stupid! Loved all the character so far, though. Sonequa Martin-Green was already amazing on The Walking Dead and she seems like a good choice for the lead here. The character's history and upbringing are also really interesting and promise some great stories for the future. James Frain is perfect for Sarek and I hope his will be a frequently recurring role. As to Michelle Yeoh, is that woman ever not amazing? I don't think so! Now I can't wait for Jason Isaacs to finally show up next time!

I almost broke down and subscribed to CBS All Access weeks ago because my brain decided it'd be fun to watch the two episodes (or was it just one?) of Touched By An Angel that star CG playing a cop.
That shows isn't available, even to purchase, anywhere else.
Boy did I have to have self control for that one.
I'll subscribe eventually. Just not now.

I feel sorry for those of you that spent money for all-access for this *ahem* so-called Star Trek venture. After 5 episodes, it is already straight in the tank. Horrid. Believe all the hate reviews on IMDb..they are spot on. I don't know WHAT in the hell CBS is thinking, this is about as far from Star Trek as it could possibly be.

Personally, I think it's great. Sure, it's quite a different take on Star Trek (as I said before, more like a fusion of ST and Mass Effect), but isn't that a perfectly legitimate approach, especially after all this time? Ah, well, haters gonna hate. I'll just keep on perfectly enjoying the show.
