Watched this this past weekend on home release. You know what, I actually liked this movie. I get why some (affectionately) call it "Trash King Arthur". I really REALLY like Charlie Hunnam as Arthur. I liked how they did The Mage (and, after reading that she was originally meant to be Guinevere, I'm actually glad that Ritchie decided he didn't have the time to develop that story and so removed reference to her being that - leaving her a more mysterious/vague character - I was fine with there not really being a romance in the film). I liked the mystical elements to it (The Mage's control of the animals, the giant creatures in the Darklands), loved the effect of Excalibur (both the 'wood grain' nature of the metal (given how the sword was forged in their take on the story) - as well as the effect on the wielder when they grab it with both hands, the glowing blue eyes and all that) . I thought the take on exactly what the stone was/used to be that the sword was being held in was a very interesting (and heartbreaking) All in all, a fun ride.

Also, one of those movies where you can tell the director without ever seeing the name! Guy Richie has such a unique style.
