Staying away from this one. Don't want to be scared about my favorite characters.
But I have a feeling all this is leading up to more of the Daisy as director crap. I know she becomes that in the comics but that character is nowhere near ready to lead. As much as I dislike Jemma in charge, even I know she is more ready and capable than Daisy. Jemma has been thru hell and back and never ran away from her responsibilities.
Adding that I think that IF we get a season 5, it will be reworked into secret warriors or into the inhumans show. And Agents of Shield will go away altogether.

I think there is still a gap to bridge for her to become the new director. At the moment I think Simmons is a better candidate.

I think that too but the show doesn't seem to. I prefer Coulson and May over all other characters and so far the show runners don't seem to think Melinda is capable of anything but fighting and being replaced all the time and Coulson just screws up a lot. I don't care at all for Daisy, Fitz, or Simmons but of the three Simmons is the best choice.

I would have loved to see her becoming director at the beginning of the season. I think she could be a good director. But now I am favorite for Simmons.

Simmons would be good. I think one of my favorite Jemma scenes this season was when she used AIDA's head to convince that Hydra goon to talk. That was pretty badass.

First Mack instead of her and while I understand why, its still pisses me off greatly after he betrayed Coulson. And they still made her help Mack make the decisions to send in back up after that. Then awful Mace and his football analogies. The must be a powered individual crap never did make any sense. And Simmons now higher than her too. And while I still love the plot twists and turns, the show is losing me again.

I think the show writers try not to make anyone look better than Daisy sometimes to be honest. maybe not as much lately, but in the past seasons for sure. I love FitzSimmons, but I'm really just kind of meh on Daisy. I could take or leave her.

They blew her completely to the front of the line and I still believe that's why the big loss in viewers in the first season. Was touted as a show for Coulson but did not come across that way. To me she is the weakest point of the show and why everything and everyone must bow down to her, including the ridiculous temper tantrums she keeps throwing, makes me want to cringe.

One of my favorite Simmons scenes as well. Very badass. My favorite is still her scene with Daisy in the van. Daisy wanted to steal the batch and hack into the Shield servers. Simmons had a much easier plan: she's boss. Very funny. And shiws the two different characters so nicely. It also indicates why Simmons can work as director and Daisy is far from ready yet. Simmons works from within the rules and as a team. Daisy knows only how to hack and do her things as a lonely vigilanty.

Daisy isn't ready to become Director yet, but these next episodes will be about her stepping into that role. Talbot & Coulson have already taken the first steps to prepare her for this. Also, Daisy has already made some Director Decisions by moving inhumans around without asking Mace. The problem with "Queen Jemma" is she doesn't know when to STOP being boss. The power goes to her head too easily. I can imagine how arrogant she would become as Director. Even Fitz would get tired of it.

I think (hope?) they'll wait until the end of the last episode to promote Daisy and do it in a way that will pay homage to how Fury turned it over to Coulson.......

My favorite part of the article: Staying one step ahead of the audience in this storyline was one of the most challenging aspects of writing it. "We're aware that it's a complicated season, but we're also aware that our fans are our fans and have spent some time with these characters and are clever and see things coming sometimes. We have to write to a smart audience," said Whedon. "Part of our job is create not just what we are presenting on plot, but letting the audience be one step ahead of us and being one step ahead of that. We try to not just write the story, but write the story they think they see coming."
