Lots of people in the comments keep bringing up the old DC Captain Marvel. Some call him the guy who says, "Shazam".
To me, the guy who says "Shazam!" is Gomer Pyle.

Yes, DC 'acquired' their Captain Marvel anyway from rival company Fawcett so he wasn't originally a DC hero. I always liked the Monica Rambeau Captain Marvel from Roger Stern's run on The Avengers. Level-headed, very powerful and part of a visually-attractive line-up that included Hercules, Black Knight and Starfox

Yes I liked that character too. Could be tough to write into a film script though given the power set. But yes it terms of "everything other than the powers", great character.
