Binged the first season (8 episodes) this week. (Question about that in a moment). Thanks for the recommendation, ayanami! All in all, it is very worthy viewing. Kudos for storyline, production values, set details and period placement, and (for the most part), the acting. Yes you have to overlook the typical number of plausibility issues for a show like this, but it was fun to watch. I allowed suspension of disbelief to reign, for the most part. What I didn't like? Winona Ryder's horrible acting in the show..and I mean in every single scene that she is in. I found it to be a MAJOR distraction from my enjoyment. Every child in the show acted circles around her. The Wheeler mom was pretty annoying at times, as well. Another minor annoyance was the occasional slow pacing. I know they are re-creating the genre feel of the era, and did a really good job at it, yet some scenes still drag out a bit long. I found myself fast forwarding through 10-30 seconds worth of 'tension build-up' more than once. As far as episode count, I'm a bit confused. Something is amiss at IMDb (other than the obvious). They say the episode count is 20, yet have only 8 listed for season 1, and 9 for season 2, ending in Oct. 2017. Season 3 is slated to be in 2018. Can you clarify a bit? Thanks

Thanks The episode count includes the first two eps of S3 and the first of S4, simply meaning that the show has already been renewed for two more seasons. Why they've got two eps listed for S3 and not just one is beyond me tbh. Your guess is as good as mine. As for Winona Ryder, if her Emmy appearance last year is anything to go by, I think she's been spending too much time on drugs. In her defence, though, her character is supposed to have anxiety issues to begin with. That, coupled with Will's disappearance and all the weird stuff that's going on, she's meant to be slightly over the edge. I'm three episodes into S2 by now, and I'm loving it so far!

LOL!!! "Caught in a love triangle between two haircuts" Lots of good and accurate stuff in that review, for sure! Still doesn't absolve Winona from failing to portray a distressed person...I think you nailed it with the drug comment on the Emmys. EDIT: that was so funny I had to watch it again Yeah, I loved the line about the haircuts! Still one of my favourite parts of S1, btw, how you start off with thinking that Steve is just some idiot jock, but turns out to be a really good guy instead. That way Nancy being caught between two guys is an actual triangle, and not just the viewer left wondering: "Why the hell is she with that guy??" My favourite joke was probably: " The only way pop culture knows how to explain alternate dimensions". It already pissed me off so much that Interstellar used the exact same thing they did in Event Horizon, so when Stranger Things did it, too, it was high time someone called them out on it!

Here's to the awesomeness of Steve Harrington! Never knew that! Best decision since Jesse Pinkman!

I wonder what that's going to be about.

The first teaser trailer for season 4 is out!! Spoiler Alert, though, so watch at own risk. On the other hand, with a release date estimated around Christmas 2020/early 2021, there's pretty much no way you're gonna get around this one anyway, so just watch it, will ya? Also, looks like a man (or should I say "no-one" ) has joined the Stranger Things cast! How awesome is that?!
