Just watched this one. Very decent Kong movie, vast improvement on the Jack Black one (which bored me to near tears). I was hoping it would have dinos, but all we got were pterodactyl like ones and the skull of what looked like a trike. I thought the new 3D Kong ride showed a Rex, but the movie didn't. Anyone know exactly what those big creatures with the antlers were supposed to be? It looked sorta like a ram, but I don't know. by the way, just have to say that Tom Hiddleston was rocking that tight blue shirt. I got quite distracted several times lol.

I've been catching up with a lot of movies recently, now that my time-consuming GoT rewatch is done, and today Kong Skull Island was on the list. Pretty enjoyable actually. My second movie with Brie Larson this week after Room (didn't even know she was in this one!) and, yeah, aquaangel , gotta agree that Tom Hiddleston can be quite distracting indeed! *swoons* The effects were incredible and I also found it pretty refreshing that Samuel L. Jackson wasn't playing a good guy for once. Still died, though. There were several moments when the movie reminded me a lot of Jurassic Park III to be honest. The one guy being carried off by the pterodactyl, one of the big monsters swallowing something that kept giving away its location (what kind of military strength flashlight was in that camera anyway?!), but I guess it's not really surprising for monster movies to share the occasional trope. What I really liked, was that they didn't wait until 3/4 into the movie to actually reveal Kong (*cough* Godzilla! *cough*), but pretty much started with him right off the bat. People are here to actually see the guy after all, not catch a glimpse or a shadow for 90 minutes and then get one big fight scene and that's it. The movie did everything right in that regard. Can't say how I would rate it in comparison to the Peter Jackson version, because I don't really remember that much about it, other than that I did like it. Either way, if the teaser holds its promise and there really is at least one sequel to Kong to come, I'll make sure to catch that one in theaters this time! Btw, Dean Winchester 100% approves the soundtrack of Kong Skull Island! I already got every single song from the movie in my Supernatural music folder!

Oh, this one is all kinds of awesome!!!!! Love the ending! I have to admit that after literally every movie I have seen (since Iron Man) and many TV shows, commercials, live acts etc., my friends and I pretty much always make up some very lame Nick Fury cameos. "So you think you're the only relief pitcher in the world?"
