Did anyone watch this? Was it any good? I have it on the dvr, but haven't watched yet. I'm a little apprehensive about it to be honest. The movie (or especially the ending) was so disappointing. I'm hoping the series is decent.

I'm hoping the series is decent. Wasn't even sure what show you were talking about but I finally saw an ad (I hardly ever watch SPIKE). From what I saw in the ad, I don't think it's for me, so I'm sorry but I can't offer any particulars for you. However, I hope you like it since it's taking up all that DVR space.

Well, now I'm trying to decide whether or not to watch it. The first thirty seconds I saw had a German Shepard. I turned it off not wanting to see the dog get killed (I hate when they do that). I was told it does die, but the how really is unnecessary to show. I mean, I figured it would die saving the human, which would have been easier to handle... But the way it happened... why did it have to be like that? Ugh. So, even though that scene is at the very beginning, I'm thinking of just deleting the show from my dvr without watching it. I can't decide for sure.
Judging by reviews I've read, the plot doesn't sound too great. It sounds like it is more focused on crime and the evil that humans do rather than the monsters in the mist. That is going to be a problem for the show going forward even if the creatures get the evil people. It sounds like they might be setting it up to say this is some kind of religious cleansing of the evil in the world or some such thing. yet the director's comments seem to dispel this theory. He said the dog dies to show how the creatures in the mist aren't choosy on victims (or something to that effect). Yet, reviews I've read seem to indicate that most, if not all of the humans killed were "evil". For example, rapists, bullies, etc. Those reviews could of course be exaggerating. Still undecided on whether or not to watch the show.
I did go ahead and delete it without watching it. The more reviews I read, the more it sounded like I wouldn't care for it.

That's the point I stopped watching, too. I've read the plot for the first 3 episodes and I just don't think this one's for me either. Full disclosure: I am a huge Stephen King fan (the Dark Tower series and The Stand are some of my favourite books. However, I didn't care gor the short story this series is based on, so I did go in with low expectations.

I too am a huge Stephen King fan, yet the opening scenes of "Kujo" just gave me the complete creeps. One of the most disturbing scenes I have ever witnessed in a movie. I literally had nightmares after seeing that. I am a huge dog lover. Doesn't sound like I show that I will be watching anytime soon. Thanks for the heads up. Now, its time to start an S.K. thread on the literary board.. I have quite a few ideas to share there.
