I checked, and I have around 700-750 users in my ignore file on IMDB, accumulated over the past 11 years I was on the site. I'd say 75% or more of those were added in the past four or five years. (Which is why I'm not surprised the forums are going down.)
I think tomorrow I'm going to remove everyone from my kill file for giggles to see what sort of a cesspool some of the forums look like. I suspect some like BvS should be fun, since that place is an effing disaster even with my ignore list in place. I shudder to think what something like the Star Wars boards (which I stopped looking at long ago) look like.
That should be fun for maybe a day or two, then it won't matter...

I have about 150 users currently on my ignore list. For me, I used to every couple years go through it and remove anyone that had been permanently removed from the boards (so that I didn't have to scroll down so ridiculously far to get to my posting history), so that's probably the main reason why it's not larger. Don't think I'll remove any of them in these final days though.

I did that once just to see how long it would take to ruin the experience......... Started hitting the ignore button like a mad man right away. :-)

I'm not sure if it was the purging of my kill file (which I realized after deleting half of it, I could have just logged in as a guest), or whether the trolls just came out like cockroaches to get in some last minute remarks, but it was... interesting.
I laughed a quite a few threads before I realized that some of the trolling was causing me to lose IQ points...
