Had to laugh at myself this morning... the TV was on in the background, and an old re-run of 'The Match Game' came on. The fill-in-the-blank question? _____Tower. Top answers from least to most: Ivory, London, and Eiffel. Thank goodness, the contestant won with Eiffel. I of course, immediately shouted out 'Stark!'

This was clearly Feige's evil plan all along...for us to always have the MCU on the brain

I was rather disappointed 'Sears' wasn't on the board. But that happens a decent amount watching 40 years later. Another time it was _________ RAIN. First thing to pop in my mind was 'Purple', though I quickly followed with "not back then, though". Or a regular question, "Name a rich man." I guessed Rockafellar (so did the contestant) and mentally dismissed Gates and Buffett, but the popular answer was J Paul Getty who never even went near my mind. Maybe we should have a game show thread.

agreed, Hari Seldon. I knew I wasn't going to be right, but its the only thing that popped into my head! A game-show thread might indeed be an interesting idea, to keep us occupied for the summer. Dare you to start one

Given the number of times it gets destroyed or Tony just changes the look of it, there's really very little chance it ever shows up outside of the films. A reference would be nice I suppose but some sort of inclusion in the skyline is just not realistic.

A reference would be nice I suppose but some sort of inclusion in the skyline is just not realistic. Well, it's not much but it is referenced in one of the framed newspaper front-pages in Daredevil. That's a great example of when it can be used - when it's a past reference to stuff that has already happened in the MCU. The films are written far in advance and can be re-written in part during filming. The TV shows are written less in advance of filming but there's still plenty of opportunity for something to be referenced in the script of a show that turns out to change. i.e. if they wanted to have Jessica look out Trish's window and see the Stark tower in the distance they'd have to write that a year or so before it happens in MCU time (release date). They'd have to know that there's nothing being written/filmed for a film that's going to actually change the look of Stark tower at that moment. Anyway, bit of a moot point as some folks are really bent out of shape about the "films don't connect to TV" thing. Anyone that's going to frequent an MCU blog or something is probably going to be someone that would love more connections (I would) but the reality is that the popcorn guzzling public are the ones that pay the bills so we have to accept that they're going to make sure that group never gets lost or confused.
