Oliver Queen, for the last ten years had been on and off an Island called Lian Yu (Purgatory in English) and has returned home to correct his father's many mistakes. While on that quest, he killed a criminal who is the father of a deranged individual named Simon Morrison or as he's known as Adrian Chase or the name he gave himself Prometheus.
Thoughout this entire season, Prometheus had been playing mind games with Oliver Queen by going after everyone he loved and gained Allies, Digger Harkness/Captain Boomerang, Evelyn Sharp/Artemus, Talia al Ghul and her cult, and Laurel Lance (from Earth-Two)/Black Siren. Oliver and his team would battle him from Star City to Lian Yu, where this all began for The Green Arrow. In the final battle on Lian Yu, Team Arrow is joined by Nyssa al Ghul, Malcolm Merlyn/The Dark Archer/The Magician, and Slade Wilson/Deathstroke. In this battle, Prometheus was holding Oliver's son and his son's mother hostage as well as Thea Queen/Speedy (Oliver's sister), John Diggle/Spartan, Felicity Smoak/Overwatch, Dinah Drake/Black Canary, Curtis Holt/Mr. Terrific, Rene Ramirez/Wild Dog, and Quentin Lance. There was an interesting twist, Prometheus had a deadman switch. If he died, the bombs he left all over the island would kill everyone Oliver cares for.
In the end, Oliver did save his son....but Prometheus shot himself in the head, setting off the bombs, destroying the island, leaving Oliver's friends and family's fate dubious.
My review, I thought the episode was awesome. Great way to close out the season and has a cliffhanger. It makes one want to see how it is resolved in the next season.
