A Song for Daisy... wish the original album cut was available online
WELL HELL, even that link didn't last for long. I can't decide who is more conceited about the online sharing that is so prevalent these days.. the.Paul McCartney/Michael Jackson camp, whoever owns the copyrights now, vs. the Prince camp, who are equally as greedy even in death, or the internet giant Google, when they bought up YouTube. Actually that whole issue about pirating was a major force in my decision to not further any pursuit of any pro-musician career.
I saw the handwriting on the wall back around the mid-90s. Unless you make your money via concerts or TV charisma, its even harder to get recognition/credit and make a living at it these days than it ever was. Thus is born such artists as Justin Bieber, Brittney Spears, most of the rappers, and so on. Stage presence has truly put a death dagger into real music. Us songwriters have about as much chance of hitting it big as we do of winning the lottery. Lightning will strike us first. Video truly DID kill the radio star. How appropriate was it that that was the first video ever shown on MTV! And if you have read Frank Zappa's autobiography, he nailed it on the head WAY before I did. The man was visionary. He got to be a grumpy old political activist toward his later years, I may well be following in his footsteps.
Apologies to all for hi-jacking the thread a bit. I'll start a new one. Now to decide, should it go into the music board, or the rant-room of the common board...

Now to decide, should it go into the music board, or the rant-room of the common board... I used to think audio would kill the video star, but it didn't happen. In addition to what you've said, meaningful lyrics have given way to songs designed to see how many F and N words can fit into 3 minutes. As for the video embed, some even bite themselves with the feature. A few months ago I wanted to see if the camera on my phone could do a panoramic photo and looked at the Samsung site. This page is supposed to have a video of the motion photo feature (I already knew about that feature, but it's worthless if you transfer the file off the phone), but Samsung has their own video blocked.
