I just started watching this because I missed it during its original run. It's quite a fun show! Mallory Jansen is hilarious in it.

It's funny, if I'd been watching when it was on then I would have wanted a third season, but the third season would have made MJ unlikely to have been cast as AIDA. "I have a dragon!"

Only seen the pilot episode yet, but I really enjoy it so far. Damn, Madalena deciding herself for the king was quite the punch in the gut for Galavant. Kinda reminds me of the scene with Fitz and Aida/Ophelia, though, when he tells her he only has room in his heart for Jemma.
Ophelia: "I offer you great love and I know that's what you'll choose." Fitz: "Actually..."

Gotta say, the show really made me wonder whether Madalena made a full 180° character-wise in the pilot, or how the hell Galavant ever stayed in love with her for more than five minutes. Sure, she's hot - body made for sin and all that jazz - but she's just horrible otherwise! Richard really did him a favour by abducting her.

I say she had an 'ah-ha' moment on the wedding day when Galavant showed up to rescue her. She realized she found the wealth and power more appealing than love and affection (and the sin she could get elsewhere). From there she was the embodiment of the 'power corrupts' adage. Think of a kid who has never even gotten near a bowl of ice cream and would have been happy if he'd never tried ice cream in his life, but an ice cream truck rolled up to his door and gave him a free sample. Next thing you know he wants more and more ice cream, it becomes an obsession, and the next thing you know he's on the path to becoming a singing monk...

Bummer they didn't get Anthony Stuart Head to reprise his guest role as Galavant sr. in the second season. (Also weird that the new actor/the character just disappeared after one episode, considering what happened at the end of that ep!) Gotta say, though, during the second season's run I almost started to feel bad for Joshua Sasse (Galavant), considering just how much Timothy Omundson as King Richard was outshining him. Or was that just my personal impression? Also, yeah, gotta agree with Hari Seldon: "I have a dragon" was simply EPIC!

Going the opposite direction, but I would compare her character change to Skye (because she was Skye at the time, not Daisy). Skye saw the establishment as evil and wanted to harm it, and used only her computer rather than any physical effort. Once Coulson brought her into the establishment (SHIELD) and let her see what she could be doing from within, she changed her mind and worked to become a full SHIELD agent. For Madelena, she saw good food, nice clothes, jewelry, and a comfortable bed. The quest for power came later after she'd been the queen for a while. As for Joshua Sasse, he was also not the first choice for Galavant. The role was initially offered to Zach Levi (title character in Chuck and voice of Flynn Rider in Tangled), but I think Heroes Reborn was more decisive and he'd already accepted that role by the time Galavant made the offer. As for TO, let's just say I would most definitely watch a spin-off called, "King Richard and his Dragon".

Considering what a disappointment Heroes Reborn was (yet again!), I'd say he made the wrong choice. Btw, Zachary Levi also played Fandral in Thor the Dark World and Ragnarok, so he's not exactly an unknown in the MCU. Funnily enough, the finale of Galavant constantly had me thinking of this:

On a side note, were you strict about villains for your avatars? If not, given your already liking TO before, I could certainly picture this on you:

But, nah, I'm perfectly happy with my current choice. Cool gif, though; definitely saved!

I'd change my nickname to "nami's dragon" but then she would probably find a new use for that frying pan, and I already have enough lumps on my head

Not really sure if this is the right thread, but whatever. I just watched Psych The Movie this evening, which already aired last Christmas, but I kinda missed the release date. I was a bit surprised at first that one of the main characters, Detective Lassiter (Timothy Omundson, King Richard on Galavant) didn't have a large role, but when he finally did appear, in a video call with one of the other characters, I quickly realised why: Timothy Omundson had suffered a (mild) stroke sometime around April last year and by the time the Psych movie was shot, a month or two later, the effects were still extremely visible. Going by what I've read on the net, he's still not fully recovered even today. Gosh, this sucks soo much! One of my favourite actors going all the way back to his role on Xena in the late 90s! I hope he's gonna be alright soon!

I did a search and saw that he's done a couple of small things since the Psych movie and is active on Twitter, but nothing really informative.

He's back and his stroke is even written into the second Psych movie.
