Man buys 100 year old piano. I love that sound. If he recorded an album of him playing that old piano, I'd buy it.

Our upright piano is actually 100+ (if I'm remembering correctly, seems like when we took it apart to refinish it we found a makers mark on it that indicated a 1901 year... or maybe it was 1911 - either way, it's hit the 100 mark). Aside from the fact that it's got a lot of cast iron innards (making it extremely heavy and a pain to move), and the fact that the B flat key just below middle C has an annoying tendency to slip really badly out of tune every few months, I love it. Anywho, favorite piano players I'm assuming is the name of the game in this thread? Have to throw in The Piano Guys: Particularly *the* piano guy of The Piano Guys, Jon Schmidt

nillindeiel Now that is a strange way of playing the piano. Somehow I managed to think of the 100 year old piano just in time to make it my 100th post.

One of the best YouTube comments I ever saw came from somebody who noticed the white flakes on the shoulders of Murray's tuxedo. "That's not dandruff. It's flakes of ivory. The piano wasn't built for Perahia."
