The very last scene, with captured May twitching her eyes, made me think. And before you dismiss this crazy idea, I urge you to re-watch the episode. There seems to be a scene everyone is overlooking. It was very early on, right after the 'title splash' of the episode.
Aida2 takes the helmet-device off of Radcliffe's head, and he is amazed. She says that Agent May kept finding the edges of the world, and the world is round. He comments that he did not realize Aida had re-created May's ENTIRE world. Aida replies, "with slight improvements".
Add to this, that Coulson and Mac were completely isolated from the team for the entire episode. Include the fact that all the scenes with Agnes, in Spain, were filmed in a much 'yellow-er' tone than the rest of the show. Is it not possible that the entire 'Agnes' plot was something Aida created inside Real May's mind?
This bugged me so bad, I had to re-watch the episode to be sure, and the single tiny hole I found in my own theory was that the 'Maytrix' Coulson (LOVE THE TERM, whoever came up with that) had a telephone conversation with Mace, and it was not 'yellow-ish' in tone.
I know, I am crazy. But still...

I had the same thoughts but that Coulson and Mack had ended up in the Maytrix at the end of the ep. And be replaced by LMD's. They would have been captured by the goons that were with Radcliffe. But I dismissed it after rewatching the scene with the goons where they were just leaving Coulson.

No one seemed to notice and or care that there was a 50 yr old American guy sitting by himself talking to himself about losing his temper and killing a guy. |

People use those blue tooth things in their ears all the time for phone calls. So, no one probably thought twice about him seemingly talking to himself.
The Maytrix theory is interesting though.

I would still be concerned that he just said he killed a person out loud. Even if he was on a Bluetooth headset, that would still concern me. |

My favorite AoS Podcast (Level7Access) also did a special where they all watched the premiere together over Skype and did a commentary on it. |
