It was a very quick line but did anyone catch what he said about having an ex-wife?
If we're going to be stuck in this FW story for the next few episodes, I would absolutely *love* it if we get to see her, just to see Coulson have that dynamic with someone even if it isn't real...
We probably won't since it was just a passing mention, though.

Considering how clueless Coulson was, I doubt his wife was a SHIELD agent in the Matrix. If she was someone we know as a SHIELD agent from the real world, she probably leads a more mundane existence in the Matrix.
IMO, May is not a candidate since she referred to him as "a teacher name Phil Coulson" that reported a subversive.
I also doubt it was the cellist since she was in his clippings and those clippings represent memories from the other side.
So.... if it is someone we know, I'm thinking Ros.

Coulson is 'waking up' from the Matrix because his subconscious is still dealing with TAHITI. I can't see his ex being Ros because there is no way in hell he's over that trauma. I think if AIDA made Ros his wife, ex or not, Coulson would be wide awake, breaking free, and bashing Russians and HYDRA flunkies in the real-world Baltic because his subconscious would be like, "HAH. NOPE. !@#$ this %^&*! *Murders everyone*" |
