In stead of connecting with the movies, Pod III is connecting with a special comic event: Secret Empire. Peruse the two articles (linked below). They provide reasoning for this odd twist in S4. themarvelreport.com/2017/03/hydra-takeover-event-planned-marvel-brands/www.newsarama.com/33862-what-exactly-is-marvels-secret-empire-hydra-takeover.htmlIt may make for an interesting event and will pander to those that read comics, but for me, the show is derived from the MCU and should be playing with story lines that are leading up to Infinity War. I think it is cool that they're connecting with the comics and, in a way, rewarding Marvel Comics readers...... but........ the show has really been about connecting with the MCU. I hope they keep that in mind as they finish out the season.

Well, I wouldn't blame them if they were sick of connecting with the MCU. I know all love is unrequited, but still...

Yeah, I think someone mentioned a while ago, how the show's current Hydra-ruled alternate reality was very similar to what the comics were doing. (If someone knows the thread, please leave a link!) Personally, I think it's cool. If the movie side of the MCU refuses to play ball, I'm not surprised the showrunners don't feel like pandering to them anymore. Of course that doesn't mean AoS should cut ties with the MCU or completely ignore what's gonna happen there, but what are they supposed to do, anyway? Find an infinity stone? Run into one of Thanos' people? Any tie in like that will either be 100% ignored by the movies or leave people utterly confused (see the helicarrier in AoU), so I'd rather they don't do it at all. Plus, turning a comic even into a cross-platform thing by (kinda) including the show is pretty great imo and might promote the comics even more. We all know sales aren't exactly stellar there.
