Spoiler Warning!
I am so happy that Mack and Coulson continue to partner up. They are perfect opposites.
I kept waiting for Mack to walk up to Coulson, ICE him, and then drag his @ss away while shaking his head.
I used to hate that Mack went against Coulson like that but now I like that I know Mack really cares about Phil but will still call him out on his words and actions.
The ending, I think, was the best Mack/Coulson scene.
What'd you think?

Honestly, I thought their interactions this episode were the worst! I guess it's not really a secret how I feel about Mack, so despite my best efforts to give him a chance, his whole "You should give up on May, she's probably dead anyway" thing kinda had me fuming. Like, what the hell, dude?
But, to be fair, at least at first Coulson wasn't much better. Going all, "I can make you comply if I have to" on Agnes was just horrible! This really felt like terrible writing to me, though. Yes, Coulson is anxious about May, but going all Guantanamo on an innocent woman without even talking to her properly and explaining the situation? That felt entirely out of character to me. But I'll also admit, so did Mack's stance on Coulson trying to save May. Sure, I think the guy is an a-hole, but I still found it weird that he would basically abandon someone from their team without knowing what happened to her.

I think some of Mack's comments were more trying to brace his friend for the possibility. He doesn't want him to get his hopes up only to have them dashed if May dies. He saw what Rosalind's death did to Phil. He is trying to protect him in his own way. Remember how Phil appointed Mack acting director since he was compromised by his emotions when Rosalind was killed. Mack probably doesn't want it to get to that point again. He is probably also trying to brace himself for the worst case scenario as well.

I don't think Mack was abandoning May. I think he was trying to steer Coulson away from the path that he was on with regards to Agnes. Mack would have set out to find May a different way. As for "Just give up on May" thing, it's like when Coulson told Lincoln to wear a murder vest: bad choice of words, but right intentions (in their mind). As for Coulson: I would have thought he was being out of character in this episode, but Maveth happened so it's like, "this is normal."

Yeah, but that was Ward who had just shot his girlfriend, tortured parts of his team (again), etc. Agnes on the other hand was an innocent civilian and Coulson hadn't even *tried* to explain the situation to her properly. That's what really annoyed me.

That's what really annoyed me. Don't get me wrong: Coulson's behavior annoyed me too. It's just that between Maveth and the fact that it was Raina bringing up the Cellist that convinced Coulson to cooperate in the Memory Machine, I've come to accept that he just doesn't think or act as rationally as he should when the women that he loves are concerned. If I had been Mack I would ICEd him and drug his ass back to Zephyr when it was apparent that he was going to not back off of Agnes.

If it was May with him, she probably would have done just that lol. LT probably would have too considering she ICEd her own brother lol.
