You could just tell everyone had a blast making it. Also, Drax/ Mantis adventure totally had me in stitches!

Agreed that Mantis and Drax in California was fun and could have gone on longer, though the premise than an alien wouldn't need a disguise there goes back at least as far as 1996 in a Voyager episode where the crew puts on 20th century clothing after time traveling and as soon as they beam down Tuvok states that if they'd stayed in uniform that nobody would have noticed.

Anyone know if the bit with Mantis' father comes from the comic books?

Mantis is quite different in the comics I believe. But in the montage of Ego hooking up with everyone there's one shot of someone of the same species as Mantis. I also recall a deleted scene or something where Pom played "Mantis' mom".
