Looks very cool, I'm really looking forward to the new season! I really wasn't a fan of Clara at all, or most of the last two seasons, really, so I'm hoping it's time for some fresh air now with the new companion.

Any Whovians here? Who's ready for Season 10? I've been watching since the early 80's and will be checking it out. That said, my interest level has lowered with Capaldi. I had my copy of the Christmas episode before it aired here in the US and only got around to watching it today. Pity that reporter won't be the new companion.

Just saw the season premiere, it was really nice! I found the actress that play Bill (Pearl Mackie) likable, i want to see more!

Just saw the season premiere, it was really nice! I found the actress that play Bill (Pearl Mackie) likable, i want to see more! I agree 100% with all that. A good solid opening episode with some very welcome nods to previous (very previous!) stories. Capaldi had a very tough act to follow with Matt Smith who I thought totally understood the role* but I'll be sorry to see him (Capaldi) go so soon. The recent Heaven Sent episode was as good as anything in the show's history (and, let's be honest, a lot of that history is as subject to Sturgeon's Law as anything else).
* and I say that as somebody who started watching during the Pertwee era - my earliest Who memory is the flood of lava in Inferno (1970).

New Doctor Who announced:
Link (name is in the url):
SPOILER
I'm fine with a female Doctor personally (unlike a lot of fans, both male & female) but I think it makes casting the next Doctor a bit awkward.

I'm all for female empowerment and stuff, but why can't we just get great female characters that stand on their own instead of turning males ones into females? Literally even this time!!! I don't want a female 007, I don't want a female Indiana Jones or a female Harry Potter and I sure as hell don't want a female Doctor. All that SJW pandering sh!t on this show is getting so out of hand it's ridiculous. Gosh, I hope the BBC tanks entirely with this!

I'm okay with a female, but I'm not sure the one they picked is right for the role. I guess time will tell. I would have rather had it be a male because I had ideas of those I'd like to see in the role long before the female doctor rumors started.

I don't know Jodie Whittaker at all but I'm quite impressed with the fact that she looks a bit like previous female Thirteenth Doctor Joanna Lumley.

I'm more concerned with new showrunner Chris Chibnall who wrote some truly dire Torchwood episodes, including the one that 'revealed' that UNIT were in the habit of incarcerating people in cells without beds for indefinite periods without trial.
