This was definitely a weird one. I'm guessing the whole absorbing demons bit is something from the comics that I haven't read.
I think I'd prefer to have seen the scenario from HISHE where Strange starts opening the text then decides that he's driving fast in bad weather and should keep his eyes on the road instead of playing with his phone.

Btw my reaction was a positive one, I really liked it! Oh I did, too! I just have no idea what to think about it. I do think some of these What Ifs will tie into the upcoming movies, though. Just like they used the Black Widow post-credits to set up Hawkeye.

Yeah I heard rumors like they will use the secret super group from comics in future MCU called Illuminati which would get for Members Professor X, Captain Carter and others Take it as nothing serious tho, I only believe official announcement or stuff confirmed by Marvel To come back on the episode, for those who read DC comics (I Stopped a while ago) it give me some very Dark Metal vibe The origins stories of the Dark Knights have some very What if vibe (for those who doesn't read them, they're basically alternate version of Batman from Earths who were supposed to be pruned because they were unstable, all are pretty grim for example there's a Doomsday looking batman because he injected himself with some genetic material from Doomsday out of desperation fighting Superman and killed him There's another one who killed the Joker but got poisoned from something that came from his body I can't remember exactly one and turned into a grotesque mix between him and his dead nemesis "The Batman who laughs") At the very least I think most if not all episodes are a setup for the Guardians of the Multiverse

Loved it. I am pretty confident they're using What If? as a bit of a testing ground. Some things they have definite plans for, some they have ideas for but want to test the waters with What If? to see how it looks and what the reaction is etc. Pretty much exactly how they use that title in the comics.
