I can't help but feel some folks (not our Jemma) are making too much of this. She probably has a point and Disney probably has a bit of a "yeah but COVID" defense.
I expect this to get settled and really, if Disney/Marvel want to make another project that includes Black Widow, they would hire her again. Though the other thing Disney/Marvel must love about variants is that it's basically a built-in excuse to recast if any one actor gets too difficult (looking at you Larson).

I'm not sure if that counts as a recast. While Monica Rambeau is the same hero (Ms Marvel), she is technically a different character. It's similar to Peter Parker/Miles Morales as Spiderman.

Nah that's not what I meant. Was just alluding to the rumors that Larson doesn't get along with anyone so if they wanted to recast Carol Danvers they could.

I've really enjoyed her as Black Widow. It'll be interesting to see if these lawsuits actually affect how Disney does things. FWIW, I'd be pretty upset in her place. If anything, it's kind of awesome to see someone who can actually stand up to the Mouse. I've never been a fan of Disney, but one thing I've always disliked about them is how litigious they are (i.e. suing daycare centers for using their characters as a display, etc.)

If the rumours are to be believed, it seems that she also doesn't really get on well with the rest of the cast.
