The CW has revealed a first look at the Powerpuff Girls live-action series, starring Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles, and Yana Perrault as Buttercup.
They also released the official descriptions of the three main characters:
CHLOE BENNET as BLOSSOM UTONIUM: Though she was a spunky, conscientious, Little-Miss-Perfect child who holds several advanced degrees, Blossom’s repressed kiddie-superhero trauma has left her feeling anxious and reclusive, and she aims to become a leader again — this time on her own terms.
DOVE CAMERON as BUBBLES UTONIUM: Bubbles’ sweet-girl disposition won America’s hearts as a child. She still sparkles as an adult, but her charming exterior belies an unexpected toughness and wit. She’s initially more interested inrecapturing her fame than saving the world, but she just might surprise us and herself.
YANA PERRAULT as BUTTERCUP UTONIUM: Buttercup was the rebellious badass of The Powerpuff Girls in its heyday. More sensitive than her tough exterior suggests, Buttercup has spent her adulthood trying to shed her Powerpuff Girl identity and live an anonymous life.

[Mar 9] The CW’s live-action The Powerpuff Girls pilot has found its three leads, with Chloe Bennet (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Dove Cameron (Descendants) and Yana Perrault (Jagged Little Pill) joining the show, according to Variety.
Bennet has been cast as Blossom, Cameron has been cast as Bubbles, and Perrault has been cast as Buttercup. Bennet and Camerson both previously appeared in the ABC-Marvel series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The Powerpuff Girls live-action series was first announced as being in development back in August. Based on the Cartoon Network series created by Craig McCracken, the new series sees the pint-sized superheroes as disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting.
The CW recently tapped Maggie Kiley to helm the pilot, having previously worked with the filmmaker on episodes of Riverdale and its spin-off Katy Keene.

[Aug 25, 2020] A live-action version of the classic Cartoon Network series The Powerpuff Girls is in development at The CW, according to Variety.
The series will follow Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup through their 20s, Deadline reports.
The plot reads:
The Powerpuff Girls used to be America’s pint-sized superheroes. Now they’re disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?
The series comes from Greg Berlanti, co-creator of the Arrowverse shows at the CW. Diablo Cody (Juno) and Heather Regnier (Veronica Mars) will write for the show.
The original Powerpuff Girls was created by Craig McCracken. In that series, Professor Utonium accidentally created the elementary school aged super team of Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup by combining sugar, spice, and everything nice with the mysterious Chemical X. The show ran for 6 seasons and 78 episodes between 1998 and 2005. The Powerpuff Girls Movie was released in 2002, while a rebooted animated series began airing on Cartoon Network in 2016.
