If on the small chance this idea takes off, I think it could be a lot of fun. We could even be as self-serving as the Hollywood crowd is, with their Oscars, Emmys, and such. There is a very specific reason I made this thread, which I will reveal in my follow-up post. Here's what I'm thinking:
When a board member makes a post which just tickles your funny bone so much, it makes your day, take a moment and acknowledge it here. At the end of the year, I will spend my hung-over New Years Day tallying the results, and giving the winner our very own 'Laser-Finger' award!
Some possible guidelines to follow: (suggestions and comments welcomed and appreciated)
1. Keep your nominees limited to actual member comments, not to any links/pics/etc. they may have attached. Remember, this is about US! Its perfectly OK to comment on a post containing extra content, just don't let that be the focus.
2. It is fine to post multiple nominations, as you never know when something even better will come along later in the year. However, don't delete any of your previous nominations.
3. Pay particular care not to re-post. If someone has already chosen your favorite, just simply give it a 'like'. Tabulations will include those likes.
4. Be certain to include the entire path to the post, the poster's name, tagged with an '@' in front, and the date of the post. So others can find it easily.
SO, LETS ALL GIVE EACH OTHER A PAT ON THE BACK, AND HAVE SOME FUN!
