Well damn. The snow has beaten me down three or four times in the past week...
My front walk. Note the height of the fence vs. the snow.
And no, it just wasn't high near the fence, lol...
Taken last Monday before the third major storm hit...

Yikes! You're right! I'd rather have the ice! Throw some salt on it and go right the heck back inside! (provided it's warm enough for the salt to melt the ice...)

(provided it's warm enough for the salt to melt the ice...) From last week, lol: You know, up until last week, it was a pretty good winter. Then came the cold and the snow and then the cold and the snow and then came the snow and even more snow and yes, more snow...

That's a huge NOPE from me! /I'd consider moving someplace warm like Florida, but then I remember that it's Florida. Also, reptiles tend to get cold stunned if the temperature dips a little and fall out of trees at you, so there's that. //I also think Cold Stunned Reptiles would make a great cover band name.

I would consider moving to Florida, though. West side, close to Tampa...

I didn't get it as bad as backroadjunkie; but, to be fair, he IS more used to this stuff than we are here in Arkansas........ Now, I'm no winter storm virgin. I grew up in Denver, spent two winters in Rapid City and four winters in Kaiserslautern. However, since then, I lived 17 years in Phoenix and 14 years in Arkansas. Arkansas averages about one snow storm of maybe 2"(ish) per year and lows generally get down in the 20s or occasionally high teens for a couple days of the year. This series of storms over a seven day period are WAY outside the norm. After the first storm on Monday: During the second storm on Wednesday:

I guess I should have taken some pictures, but I didn't see this thread earlier. Here in Chicagoland, I have to exit the driveway blindly, and that's with a Jeep. I knocked down most of the icicles, but there's one I can't reach without wading through high snow that must be about 20 feet.
Might I suggest Arizona as an alternative? It's warm and doesn't have a lot of Florida natives or Californians.

This series of storms over a seven day period are WAY outside the norm. The weather critters estimate we got an entire winter's worth of snow in three weeks. It's not the worst I've seen, but it's been a few years since I've been dumped on like this. I still need to finish clearing out behind my garage. It's "good enough" right now, lol. (For those of you who are thinking, hey, exercise is good for you, no, you're wrong. So very wrong... )
I have a friend who owns a farm in central Tennessee, rarely gets to freezing, much less snow. Sub-zero temps would kill her. She got ice, then snow. Karma for e-mailing asking how hard it was snowing. Three times...
