Well, I guess Wanda is aware, Vision is starting to figure things out, and the show took a step toward the woke void.
No, Captain Danvers was never close to defeating Thanos. For those unaware, Evan Peters played Quicksilver in the X-Men movies and now plays Pietro here.

Wanda was always aware. The real question is, who's in charge?
I had a couple thousand words written about eps 1-4 (killed my back after shoveling a couple tons of snow, so I just started writing.) I'll update it to a mid-season review and post it later this week. I'll keep the first part spoiler free, but then...
LOL to those who classified this series as a sit-com. I think toward the end it'll be more horror than sit-com, especially when they introduce the real antagonist. Which will probably be the same antagonist in Dr. Strange 2...
Could really do without the laugh tracks, lol.

I really think the juxtaposition of the cheesy TV sitcom (and laugh track) with the real horror of what is going on is amazing. As a Stephen King fan, this is right up my alley!
I am still of the opinion that Wanda is not "in charge" or "aware" in the complete senses of those terms. It's much more complicated than that. She may be the battery, but someone else is flipping at least some of the switches.
Loved, loved, loved the surprise of Evan Peters. So many possible directions they could be heading here. And all of them good!

My thought process at the end of the episode: "Hey, I know who's outside that door!" "Huh, that hair kinda looks more like--" "Oh, get the f*ck outta here!!!" Well, okay, I gotta admit, they caught me off guard with that one. Guess I should have know, but...

Well, okay, I gotta admit, they caught me off guard with that one. Guess I should have know, but... I have avoided predictions and news and set photos etc. So if what I'm about to guess is already proven/disproven please just ignore. But I really think using the "other" Pietro fits perfectly with this story. I mean, even if there hadn't been a version in the Fox films, I could see using another actor here. Reason being, it seems like Westview is *mostly* Wanda's grief-stricken fever dream to deny stuff she can't face. But there's clearly something else going on as well. Someone has an agenda, not just the Director of SWORD either. I think someone wants Wanda's kids. And while I'm sure she was in terrible emotional pain after the events of Infinity War, which for her just happened, I think someone has amped things up. Basically messing with powers they don't fully understand and hence why the sitcoms are getting mixed in etc. I think having an "alternate" Pietro fits that. It's probably Wanda's subconscious warning her that things aren't real and/or her powers being coopted by another causing a "misfire" of sorts and pulling in a version from an alternate reality. I think he's what will lead her to finally realize that things are not right and she's being used etc. Vision challenging her _almost_ was enough. Monica mentioning Pietro and Ultron earlier cracked the surface a little bit. If Wanda truly takes control of Westview from whomever (Ralph) has been messing with her, she's going to show her true power. Though given what she's gone through it's still likely to be unhinged. I really wish D+ would drop the entire season at once - these week-long breaks are killing me! LOL

Full-season releases have been the worst thing to happen to TV shows in forever! You watch an episode and another and another and another until it's done, and then? You move on to the next show, because there are a thousand more around. Nah, give me the weekly releases instead, so I can mull the story over, rewatch an episode if I feel like it, and have it in my brain until it sticks! That's the way I like my shows! Alternatively, you can always wait until the whole season is out, so you can skip the weekly wait.

Well, okay, I gotta admit, they caught me off guard with that one. Guess I should have know, but... I'd seen a spoiler somewhere that they were talking to Aaron Taylor-Johnson to reprise his role, possibly in a flashback. I have to admit that I didn't recognize Evan Peters when he showed up on screen, probably because he didn't have his eyewear. Even without recognizing him, when Kat said that Wanda had recast Pietro, I really expected her to paraphrase your spoiler.

The discussion between the writers and the casting department probably went something like this: "Hey, guys, we want to bring Quicksilver into the show. Get on that, ASAP!" "Sure, but which one?" "You know, the guy who was also in Kick Ass!" "Oh, okay. No problem."

I really wish D+ would drop the entire season at once - these week-long breaks are killing me! LOL Not Disney+'s plan. The way it's mapped out now, we should have a new MCU/Disney+ episode every week for the rest of the year and beyond. Should be true of Star Wars/Disney+ shows once they finalize production on those...

I'm just so anti-spoiler that it adds risk. No way could I wait to watch it all, I need to watch them as they drop and avoid social media until I have caught up. Even with that, there's always some speculation or rumor or set photo that threatens to spoil things (for me).

I just get paranoid of spoilers so with the Netflix stuff I could just crush the entire season when it dropped then safely creep back onto social media without fear of spoilers.

I am really enjoying this series so far, and it's great that the plot is starting to come together!
