I was lucky enough to be able to get the first round of COVID vaccine. My arm is only mildly sore right now (2 days out), but that was a doozy. Kind of wishing I'd waited for the single-dose option that's coming soon, but two doses and some mild generalized yuck is definitely better than the alternative. Hope all of you who want to get the shot are able to get scheduled and in!

I'd say I was a bit tired for a couple of days each time, but I do know people who got nausea. From what I've looked at, the vaccine protects you from the disease, but if you come in contact you can still be a carrier for a few days, and I know nobody on this board wants to endanger others, so keep being careful.

I was told that mask wearing and social distancing needs to continue until a good portion of people are vaxxed for herd immunity. Glad you were able to get dosed too!

Here in Germany there was a situation recently where there was a Corona outbreak in a nursing home with one of the mutated strains of the virus, despite all the residents already having been fully vaccinated. The positive news was, though, that all the cases were either mild or even asymptomatic, so hopefully that can be attributed to the vaccine.

It’s a similar thing with the flu vaccine. Much of the time, even if you catch a strain not included in that year’s dose, the illness still tends to not be nearly as severe.
