As I mentioned to Jemma Simmons during our Daredevil rewatch last night, there's been allegations made that the Daredevil writers were forbidden from writing backstories for Nobu and Madame Gao, with the reasoning that apparently audiencess wouldn't care about Asian characters.

Which, if you ask me, is total BS in and off itself. Those two were among the most awesome and badass characters of the show and I would have LOVED for them to have a more fleshed out backstory!
