Couldn't watch it live, but least I could watch it without commercials! Only 12 more eps to go. I hope they don't screw it up. (Just a couple of things I want from this season. Don't kill characters for the sake of killing characters, and end the series on a happy, unambiguous note. It's the last season. Don't disappoint the fans...) Thoughts and comments: New York City, 1931. Time correct given the level of completion of the Empire State Building. The sets were very cool, but there was something about NYC that didn't look exactly right. Maybe it was like Quake said, never seen it in color. (Anyone want to bet the 30's streets/building wide shots were actually taken from 30's B&W photos and colorized? Heh...) Great title card. I wonder if we'll get different fonts and designs in other time-frames. The scene following the title card is from the end of Season Six (The Waking Of Robo-Coulson), so you know exactly when Season Seven starts... Wonder how I'd do if I woke up as a sentient robot. At least I wouldn't have my hay fever anymore... We now get to witness the sixth iteration of Phil Coulson. Coulson pre-death, Coulson post-death, LMD Coulson, Framework Coulson, Sarge/Pachakutiq and now Robo Coulson. (Did I miss any?) I like this new Coulson (after his reboot). In his current form, he could be a superhero, and he's like a kid learning what he is and knows and using it to his advantage. (Like taking the shotgun.) He's even walking with a different swagger... And his resurrection as an LMD is already paying off knowing about the location of the speakeasy and the password "Swordfish". We'll probably see his knowledge in other time periods they're going to visit. The meeting between Coulson and May could be awkward. And another Koenig, lol. (Earnest Hazard, this time.) The writers need to give up on that one. (A good running joke would be to have a Koenig in every time period they have to visit, yes? There's at least one, maybe two generations of Koenig's in-between there...) Nice twist with the Malick thing. So we get three generations of the scum. Cool. It's just this one can't die. Pity, since it would put an end to HYDRA, but then we'd never get Winter Solder as a movie, or Agents of SHIELD as a series... So what's he got, anyway? A super serum? Will it produce another Red Skull? And why are the Chronicoms trying to eliminate SHIELD? It's not SHIELD in their way, it's Team Coul... Uh... The Team. Is the current Team from this reality, or another slice of the Multiverse? If it's from this reality, then they would be subject to shifts in reality (such as killing the Team members parents, or a young team member.) This is actually discussed for 20 seconds or so, ending with Mack telling Deke, "No patents". A LOL moment. One of the cops looked enough like Ward that I was wondering if they were there to kill Ward's granddad, thus eliminating one founding members of the Team. And what was the point of erasing the face, other than it looked really cool? I still hate time travel. (Didn't like it in Endgame, either. ) Did anyone find Jemma's treatment of the Chronicom rather brutal? Of course, her entire history since since last season has been because of the Chronicoms, so she may be justified, but it was another brutally cool... uh... meltdown scene. I wonder how many years she's been isolated with Enoch. She seems to be playing a much older character. How about Fitz? Is he still a corporeal being, or is his brain/memories living in the ether? I could go either way with that. And what was with Zombie May? <spoiler>Couldn't get over the fact she was killed in the Mandalorian?</spoiler> Can't they start a season without someone being broken? Heh... And remember, people, ripples, not waves. And I need to get some sleep...

Hey everyone, I don't know if people remember me here, but I use to be on the old IMDB boards. I been meaning to come to these boards in the past seasons at least when the season was on but something always kept me away. Fifth season I was living abroad and that season didn't start until a few months after it started in America. By the time I started watching it everyone had moved on. Last season I was back in America but then I was so busy I would miss the show for a week, catch up, miss it again, etc. So it was really sporadic when I caught it. And to be honest I really did not like last season of the show at all. It just got too weird even for me. But I watched every episode. But I had forgot so much of what happened last season, I had to go back and rewatch the final episode because I was literally lost trying to remember what to happened May, Fitz, etc. I only remembered Coulson now being an LMD and off course going back in time, but everything else I could not remember. I watched the premiere first and THEN the finale again because I was that lost lol. But it brought back all the things I did not like about last season. But this season, being its last, I decided to make sure to tune in at the beginning. And now being stuck at home on quarantine, its not hard lol. But I have to say I loved it. It felt like classic AoS again, only with time travel. I'm really excited for the possibilities now and it looks like we are going to get a deep dive into SHIELD and MCU history, so can't wait. I had planned to be a more active member here for its last season but it looks like these boards have really dried up a lot unfortunately. But I'll try and check in when I can and hopefully will stay on top of my viewing so I can be part of the conversation if there is one here. If it doesn't happen, I hope everyone enjoys the last season. It looks like a lot of fun so far.

Gotta say, I'm *REALLY* impressed with the visual effects, as always! Have you seen ep 104 of The Disney Gallery? Imagine what this should/could look like if done in The Volume. (If you can't tell, I'm thoroughly impressed with that tech! )
But yeah, for a network TV show, they do a pretty good job...

Team Coulson fighting to save.....HYDRA. Yep, what an interesting twist. We should have seen that coming, once it was revealed last season that the Chronicoms wanted to eliminate SHIELD.
That entire FDR plot was a great mis-direction.

The whole Izel/Sarge/Fear dimension rift thing was a stretch, but the Chronicom side of the story wasn't that bad. It was all nicely tied together with Fitz's rescue. (I still would have preferred a web series of Fitz's rescue followed by a whole 'nuther story line for S6, lol...) I tend to think S6 was weak because they painted themselves into a corner thinking S5 was going to be their farewell, but was suddenly renewed for two more seasons.
This season is still tightly connected with the last, so I'm thinking some of the weirdness of S6 will still be with us...
Well, as May declared, we're a small but active fan base. Still think the creation of SHIELD should have been done in S2 of Agent Carter. I'm really hoping that S7 doesn't become a "Jump to a new time frame to fix a problem, then rinse and repeat for the entire season." I trust the showrunners to do more than that, since they've befuddled me with plot twists in the past.
I suspect this season will go out with a bang, not a whimper. It would also be nice if all the character's arcs didn't end with the series. The multiverse is a big place after all...

I also hope that the character arcs don't end with the series. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they keep the option to have these characters pop over onto the movies or the Disney + series (I think that is more likely than the movies at this point). I suspect that even though the series is ending, this isn't the last we'll see of the characters.

I too sat down and watched this episode of the final season and I must say that I had that IMDB nostalgia twinge because of it. Despite the many, many trolls on IMDB the AoS board had a group of devoted fans that matriculated over to here and are quite prominent and talented.😎 Because this episode was so dense I am going to have to binge watch the entire series from the beginning. Why? When It comes to Marvel-TV and the MCU (Netflix series also) I like my immersion enjoyment to be detailed and intense. Like you I need a refresh view and I'm going to have to rewatch S7E01 again because I have questions of both content, narrative and structure.
