Seems like every ten years or so it's time for an athletic petite blonde to save the world. First it was a slayer in California, then a cheerleader in Texas and now a gymnast in Nebraska. Go, girls! Stargirl is another DC Universe show, but will also be airing with one day delay on the CW, giving it a wider audience than previous DC Universe shows had. The production values seem to be higher than the usual CW fare as well, but both the teenage lead, as well as the "average network TV" level of violence make it a pretty good fit among the CW's other superhero shows. (Still wondering how Swamp Thing is gonna play out here...) Stargirl is not a part of the Arrowverse, though, (at least not pre-Crisis. Now... who knows?) as we've already briefly met the character as well as The Justice Society of America on Legends of Tomorrow. Those guys were living back in the 40's, though, while the new Stargirl is firmly set in the current time. Known names feature Luke Wilson, Amy Smart, Christopher James Baker (Malachi on AoS) and Neil Jackson (the one actor who first drew me to this project), although it's clear that they're mostly on their characters to sell the show, not big name actors. So, yeah, we're just one episode in, but so far I like the show.
