First of all I wanna say: Thank goodness that Agents of Shield has already finished production!!! So, while no official release date for the show's final season has been announced yet, I think it's safe to assume that AoS won't be subject to any corona-related delays. Unlike tons of other stuff, that is. I saw an interesting thread over and superherohype.com earlier, which I'm just gonna link here: forums.superherohype.com/threads/the-coronavirus-impact-on-the-film-industry-thread.554019/They talk about the different delays in both release and production that have already been announced, as well as speculate what they might mean for the movie schedule in the upcoming months/years, as well as the competition between the bigger and smaller releases. This video backroadjunkie posted over in the Black Widow thread touches onto many of the same topics, but since it all goes so far beyond BW, I don't think we should clutter that thread too much with corona-related discussions. I want to reiterate a point I made in the Black Widow thread, though: I think it is extremely optimistic - if not to say naive - to believe that produtions can just resume in two weeks without a problem. Here in Germany almost everything is on lockdown right now and many of these measures are anticipated to last until the middle of April. At least. It also seems like you guys are just getting started with the outbreak, so, business as usual in two weeks? I highly doubt it.

So, according to Deadline, most broadcast TV shows have officially stopped production for this season, effectively leaving a lot of them without a proper finale this year. Apparently many are planning to resolve the still open plotlines in the next season, wherever that's possible. The situation really sucks, though, for Empire and my favourite, Supernatural, seeing as they have no next season!! 15 years, damn it!! Supernatual survived the writers' strike, budget cuts, moronic scripts, and has always managed to bounce back to being high quality entertainment. Honestly, I don't care how long it takes, but I neeeeeeeed a proper ending for this show! deadline.com/2020/03/coronavirus-shutdown-broadcast-series-without-finales-dilemma-empire-supernatural-series-finale-1202885099/

Most of the time they involve a life threat to a character you already know has signed a contract for the next 2-3 seasons and won't die.
So, ayanami, have any of the breweries over there come out with a hefeweirus yet? I'm sure that would be much better than the Corona one.

Most of the time they involve a life threat to a character you already know has signed a contract for the next 2-3 seasons and won't die. Well, many shows might have some kind of tag-on cliffhanger in the last five minutes, but I'd say it's pretty rare for a season finale to not give at least some resolution to their main plot. (*glaring at you, S1 finale of Titans!*) Also, what's to say the last produced episode for any given show won't end on a cliffhanger as well, maybe an even worse one? Let's look back at S1 of Agents of Shield. Would you have rather had the season end abruptly with Ward throwing Fitz and Simmons into the ocean and the rest of the team surrounded by Hydra agents? Or the way it was, with Ward in handcuffs, Fitz and Simmons rescued and the team taking refuge at the Playground right before Coulson starts carving? I know what I prefer... Oh, boy. Ohhhhhh, boy!

There could be a silver lining to all this. With all production stopped, scripts, plots and other planning could be thought through a little more with improvements made, rather than everything having to be done by a deadline.
I wonder if we'll see a better grade of movies for a time (maybe a year or two) in say, two to three years...
