If this falls through, Marvel is just going to have to introduce the totally new and completely unrelated character Night Monkey into the MCU. Played by Tom Netherlands, some new up and coming actor I recently heard of for the very first time.

What a "Night Monkey Fitz" might look like...

Ugh! Seriously, people?! Disney, stop being such a bunch of grreedy bastards! Sony, please don't mix Tom Holland's amazing Spider-Man in with your venom crap! He's too important for the MCU! Why can't we all just get along? Exactly. Disney already makes 100% of the profits from Spider-Man merchandise, not to mention how much money they make from their other IPs (ie. Star Wars), they don't need 50% of Spider-Man film gross.

So, I guess that means eventually we're gonna need a new Spider-Man movie thread outside of the main MCU sub-forum. I just heard today that there is a possibility that Sony offered Disney/Marvel the 30% & rights to Spider-Man if they'd also put Venom in the MCU. So, the negotiating may not be as over as it sounds.

How much do you think a new Spiderman franchise from Sony would have grossed if Spiderman wasn't in the MCU?
No Iron Man, no Happy, no Fury, no Hill, no story line containing any of the MCU's history.
While Disney getting 50% was probably never in the cards (50% is just as ridiculously high as 5% is low), my guess is Sony is still going to generate more money from the franchise with a Disney deal than they would have if they tried another stand-alone reboot...
