With The Boys, another superhero show joins the ranks, but it is definitely not the type of show you've seen a hundred times before. Not just because of the hard MA rating (language and violence), but also, because this time the superheroes are the bad guys. Most of them at least.
The mild mannered Hughie gets thrown in with a team of ordinary humans led by Karl Urban's Billy Butcher. Together they face a world full of supes, most notably The Seven, which are basically The Justice League with a bit of the Avengers thrown in for good measure. Especially the leader of The Seven, Homelander, is basically the love-child of Superman and Captain America, considering his character design and brand. Morality wise... not so much.
Special effects are really really awesome and at times very gory, the story and writing is fantastic and the flawless acting finishes off a perfect package. Special shoutout here to Karl Urban and also to Antony Starr (formerly the lead on Banshee) for bringing Homelander to life.
Here's the least spoilerish trailer I could find:

Also forgot to add that one of the show's creators and main writers is Erik Kripke of Supernatural fame. And that it features among others Erin Moriarty in one of the leading roles. MCU fans might know her from Jessica Jones' first season where she played Killgrave's victim Hope Shlottman. Oh, and the stupid annoying downstairs neighbour bitch of Jessica is also on the show, though thankfully in a much smaller role!

In addition to his obvious murdering spree, his milk fetish is creepy. Yeah, Homelander is an amazingly psychotic villain. You never know whether he's gonna take a selfie with someone or murder that person horribly. Plus, yeah, the milk. It was a weird obsession last season, but now it's just straight up gross. I literally just stumbled over this gem, though:

Welp, turns out we have confirmation on Stormfront's origins. Yep, she's the most dangerous Supe(rvillain) on the show alright.

I think that I need to revise an old comment. It's not Stormfront, Homelander, or even the latest villain, Soldier Boy as the most dangerous Supe. That would be Victoria Neuman. Not only she blows you away...literally, but she's also a few steps away from being President of the US.
