Well, though I actually really like them (thanks to Loki ), I have to admit that the first two Thor movies were not exactly the shining stars of the MCU. Yet she did sign on for those... But, I guess one main reason why Marvel got Natalie to re-join the franchise was precisely the fact that they're doing the female Thor storyline. She probably wouldn't have wanted to be the damsel in distress once again, but to be a super heroine in her own right (sort of, I guess), sure, why not? I agree the Thor movies are near the bottom of the "best MCU films" but they're still better than most non-MCU comic book movies IMO. I also didn't really see her as a complete DID but yeah, a more "the girl saves herself in this one" film likely appealed to her. I just like her as an actress and in the interviews I've seen. Plus when she hosted SNL she was part of one of the best skits ever. So I'm openly biased.
Anyway, I expect this next Thor film to be very good. And they'll figure out a good way to justify why she gets Thor's powers and why (or if) she actually takes the name Thor or whatever. Same!!! This skit? Because this still makes me laugh!

Natalie Portman is a great actress and I certainly have enough faith in the MCU by now to assume that they'll find a good way to transfer even a not-so-well received storyline from the comics onto the big screen successfully. Now, considering that Blind Spot is heading into its final season later this year, might I actually hope that they bring Lady Sif back as well, or is that too much to ask?
