AoS6.8 -- Collision Course (Part 1)
You know, I never start these intending to transcribe the entire show, but dammit if it sure ends up that way. (I type fast, but looking up spellings on ABC.com really slows me down. That, and Mack slurs his words alot...)
Executive summary: Everyone's the bad guy.
Prologue.
FitzSimmons' ship is flying though space. (I'm sure the ship has a name, but...) Inside, there is a number of crew working. The camera moves up to a deck where Fitz is installing the Jump Drive.
Thug 2: It's not going to work. I'm telling you this bucket of bolts will never survive a Hyperjump.
Thug 1: You'll turn us all into space dust.
Izel: Fitz, is that true? You served time on this ship.
Fitz: Yep, there are risks, he's right. But, this ship is solid. It survived two Karbona solar storms. So, if I had to bet, I'd say the odds are even.
Izel: Good enough. Prepare to jump.
Thug 2: What? Those are terrible odds. You're making a big mistake.
Izel: Remove yourself from my bridge. (Thug 1 and Thug 2 depart.)
Simmons: The odds aren't very good.
Fitz: Yeah, well, they never are, are they? So we can either roll the dice and hope for the best, or we can spend the rest of our lives on the run, light years away from home.
Simmons: Well, I'd be happy with you anywhere. (Fitz gives her a look.) But I am sick of space. (To Izel) Get us the hell out of here.
Izel nods and pulls a lever, the jump drive blinks, the ship shakes, and they go to a porthole to see Earth rising over the Moon.
Simmons: Home.
Title card.
In Lighthouse HQ.
Sarge: If you don't stop wasting my time, you're going to lose your planet.
Daisy: That's what you'd like us to think.
Sarge: We had a deal Mack. My truck and my crew, now.
Mack: You'll get them. First I need to know what your plan is.
Sarge: My plan is to stop it.
Daisy: The end of the world? Yeah, been there. Done that.
May: How can those Shrike creatures destroy an entire planet?
Yo-Yo: They'd have to infect everything.
Sarge: If there's enough of them, they will. They're paving their way for their creator. You saw what happened on Chronica-2. That was because we got there too late. Keys! I'm not asking again.
Mack: I'm sorry, I'm not very fluent in "vague". You'll get your keys when I get some answers. Now show us.
Sarge: The Shrike. Their hosts are gathering at this location. That's where the beast will appear. When it does, I need to be there.
May: A beast?
Yo-Yo: What happens when it appears?
Sarge: I kill it. Keys. (Mack flips Sarge the keys.) Now my crew.
Mack: Agents May and Johnson will be going with you.
Sarge: I said my crew.
Mack: They're your crew now. You can have one of yours.
Sarge: Forget it. No deal. I'll just stay here and watch your planet die.
Mack: You're more than welcome, but I don't think you came all this way just to lose again.
Sarge: Give me two.
Mack: You get one. The others stay here.
Sarge: How long are we going to do this?
Mack: I need an insurance policy. So I'm pretty sure you'll be willing to leave one behind, but not two.
Sarge: Insurance?
Mack: Yeah. To guarantee you come back. When this is done, you and I are going to have a very un-vague conversation about who you are, where you're from. Now pick one.
Snow is in the semi. She's obviously the one Sarge chose. Along with Snow is May, Daisy and two SHIELD guards.
Sarge: Make yourself useful. I'll take that. (Takes device from one of the guards.) No, on second thought, just stay out of our way and don't touch anything. You two (to the guards), out! We'll handle this. (May nods. Guards leave.) So, we all going to get along?
May: You're in charge. We're just here to help.
Sarge: Okay, I know what you do, you just kinda glare all steely eyed like that and beat people senseless. (to Daisy) What about you?
Daisy: I'm a hacker.
Snow: Like you hack of limbs? Chop people up?
Daisy: No, I hack computers. It means I know how they work.
Sarge: Oh, well that'll come in handy exactly zero times on this mission. Can you handle weapons? Are you good in a fight?
Daisy: I can.... handle myself. (May smirks. So did I.)
Mack: Are you ready to go yet? You got everything you requested.
Sarge: I just need one more thing. You off my truck.
Mack: Oh, well, you're in charge.
Sarge: I keep hearing that, but am I? I don't want any more surprises. This mission depends on stealth.
Mack: We'll stay on the base. You have my word. In the meantime, we'll be standing by ready to fly if you need us.
Sarge: I won't, but... (The device he has shorts out.) Dammit. This is why I need my crew. Pax is the only one who can fix this.
Mack: Well, you picked Snowflake. Now, what is that?
Sarge: It was designed to keep the Shrike away. It emits a sonic pulse or something. It disrupts their equilibrium. It confuses them.
Daisy: Shrike repellent?
Sarge: Call it what you want. But without it, they'll be all over us. I need Pax.
Mack: I know somebody who can fix it.
In Mack's office.
Deke: No, no, no, no, no. I'm not going anywhere with the evil Coulson twin.
Mack: We need you Deke.
Deke: So do my employees, my board of directors, my masseuse, these people all need me.
Mack: Then help us save them. Because if this goes South, they'll all be dead.
Deke: You know, you guys are like... You're like doomsday magnets that's just attracting all this negative energy, and it's because your vibarations are off. I got a shaman, he can probably help you out with some of this stuff. I had this lower back pain...
Mack (shakes his head): Stop. Please just stop. Here's the deal. You go on this mission, and I stay quiet on why I became a shareholder.
Deke: You didn't think I was serious about that, did you?
Mack: You're damn right I did. Two percent of your company, and I keep my mouth shut about what I saw inside your virtual... perv world.
Deke: Okay, Mack, I hate to disappoint you, but what you saw, was just a design glitch.
Mack: Okay, then, I guess you don't mind me showing her.
Deke: Oh, well, I could probably just do you a favor and... welll... I'll go.
Mack: No, that's okay, I'll just find someone else.
Deke: No, no, no. I'll give you five percent of my company.
Mack: Ten percent, and you stop stealing SHIELD tech.
Deke: This is... Extortion. And it's... not cool. (Mack stares at him. Deke walks out of Mack's office...)
In the Semi, Deke is working on that device.
Deke (to himself): Ten percent, you idiot. Do you have any idea how much money that is? Now you get to go on this suicide mission, too. I gotta fire that shaman. (Snow sneaks up behind him. To Snow.) Whoa, whoa. What are you doing?
Snow: You look like you have a beautiful soul. I'll bet it shines. I want to see it spill out of you.
Deke (impressed): Thank you.
Sarge (walks in): Snow, hands off. Ready to roll? Any luck?
Deke: Yeah, no, I'll be able to fix this hunk of junk in two point two hours max.
Snow: I hope you're right. You, hacker. With me.
Daisy: I'm okay back here.
Sarge: I need an extra pair of eyes in front. Motormouth here is busy, and the last time "Smiles" was up there, she tried to kill me, so...
Daisy: She's your OG crew. Take her.
Sarge: Snowflake stays here. You don't trust me, I don't trust you. So take a seat up front, or tell your boss to send someone useful. (Daisy goes up front with Sarge.)
Sarge: Mouth shut, eyes on the road, we'll get along just fine. (Over com to HQ.) We're moving out, ETA to rendezvous point, 17 hours, 53 minutes. Don't call us, we'll call you.
In SHIELD HQ.
Mack: Davis. (Davis!) Get the Zephyr ready.
Davis: Space ready?
Mack: Negative. The FitzSimmons mission will have to wait. We could be facing another extinction level event.
Davis: Copy that. Should be good to go.
Yo-Yo: You're following his truck.
Mack: I told him we wouldn't leave our base. I just didn't tell him the Zephyr is out base in the sky. (Yo-Yo smirks.) Look, I'm going to need you by my side on this one. 'Cause if there's some kind of beast coming...
Yo-Yo: It's never what we expect. I hope we recognize it when we see it.
Back in space. Panning through a corridor, reveals Izel sitting on the floor, humming a tune. In her hands, a Shrike awakens... Oh, this can't be good...
commercial.
Pax is being loaded onto the Zephyr. In a containment pod, is Jaco. Pax gets chained to a bench.
Pax (to guard): How come he gets the comfy room and I get chained up like some animal? I'm talking to you. (Charges guard, gets held back by the chain.)
Guard (gets within a couple inches of Pax): Have a seat. (Mack shows up, guard backs off.) The men are secure, sir.
Pax: I don't feel secure. We're supposed to be at your headquarters. That was the agreement.
Mack: This plane is our mobile headquarters. You got a problem flying?
Pax: It depends where we're flying.
Mack: We're going wherever Sarge is going.
Pax: That is a stupid idea.
Mack: And why is that? (Pax shrugs) Okay. Enjoy the ride. (Mack walks away.)
Cut to the semi. Sunset. (Looks the the California desert. No, really.) Interior of the cab. Daisy is looking at Sarge.
Sarge: Impressive, right? And that's not even my good side.
Daisy: Doesn't it bother you?
Sarge: What? This Coulson guy had my face? Not really. If you're going to steal, steal from the best.
Daisy: No, it's not that you guys only looked the same. It's that you guys have the exact same DNA.
Sarge: What is that?
Daisy: You are made of the same genetic material, on a molecular level. You are identical.
Sarge: Doesn't matter.
Daisy: Of course it matters.
Sarge: Why?
Daisy: Because there has to be a reason. There has to be a connection between you two. Otherwise, it's too random. (Hey, Daisy, wanna discuss the writing on this show?)
Sarge: I got news for you sweetheart. I been to a lot of worlds, and all I see is random.
Daisy: How old are you?
Sarge: Not doing this.
Daisy: Doing what?
Sarge: Losing focus. My past doesn't matter. What matters is the future, and if you want to have one, then you and your team need to stay out of my way.
Daisy: Your past might help explain why...
Sarge: Your world is about to be destroyed. The only two questions that matter are, how to stop the monster, and how to survive if we fail. She's coming, and everyone you care about is going to die.
Daisy: Is that what happened to you? Everyone you cared about died?
Sarge: I told you. The past doesn't matter.
Daisy: I want to know.
Sarge: There's nothing to tell. They're gone. And now I'm going to kill her.
Daisy: Her. You keep saying "her". Does she have a name?
Sarge: Izel. The monster's name, is Izel.
Well, that was a big reveal we were all expecting...
On the spaceship, Izel is climbing stairs to the bridge.
Izel: Is everything alright?
Fitz: Yeah. It'd be better if we had some decent tools and a trifield meter.
Simmons: We're fine. Just trying to decode the ship's communication system so we can contact our friends on Earth.
Fitz: Well, even if we do get the system running, there's no guarantee anyone's going to be listening in this range.
Simmons: Sorry, we've just been away from Earth for ages, and we're just anxious to contact our friends and get home.
Izel: I envy that your almost home. I'm afraid I'll never see mine again.
Simmons: Cause of the artifacts you're looking for? (Izel nods.) Well, I mean, we'll do whatever we can to help.
Izel: I'm grateful. It's rare to meet kind beings in this universe. Most I meet are either fools or thieves.
Fitz: You can say that again.
Simmons: Tell us about these items your searching for.
Izel: The Di'Allas. They're made of stone. And they were stolen from my world a millennia ago. They can create, move beings through space and time and...
Fitz: Monoliths.
Izel: Mo.. Mono..
Fitz: Your talking about Monoliths.
Simmons: We've heard of those. We were told the Chronicoms kept them.
Izel: I'd heard the same. That's why I went to their home world. But I was attacked, and my crew was killed. The whole planet is destroyed.
Simmons: We saw what was left of it.
Izel: I'm afraid the same may happen to Earth if I don't find those artifacts.
Fitz: So, they originated on your planet?
Izel: (nods) They were created to connect life together. But there's someone who had no interest in that. He murdered my crew. And he won't stop until he eliminates me.
Simmons: Why is this person so intent on destroying you?
Izel: Because I know the truth about him.
I know what he really is.Aaaand, cut to SHIELD HQ, where Coulson, Sarge, and their DNA tags are on the screen. Nice transition there, fellas.
Mack: Our guests are all set. Any word from May and Daisy?
Davis: Not yet, but we'll have no problem tracking them. Agent May has a sat-phone if she has to contact us, so...
Mack: All right. Let's get this bird in the air.
Davis: Roger that.
Mack walks over to Yo-Yo.
Yo-Yo: Prisoners give you any trouble?
Mack: Well, the big man seems content on breathing his home planet's air, but the twitchy dude wasn't too thrilled to find out we're tracking Sarge.
Yo-Yo: That's the first time I ever heard you say that.
Mack: What, twitchy?
Yo-Yo: Call somebody a big man.
Mack: Well, I'm not use to going up against giants.
Yo-Yo: Well, now you know how the rest of us feel when we're talking to you. It involves a lot of looking up.
Mack: You know, I don't feel like a lot of people have been looking up to me, lately.
Yo-Yo: You can't let Sarge get to you Mack. Everybody at SHIELD believes in you.
Mack: Wish I could say the same.
Yo-Yo: Look, I know it was a risk letting you take point on the mission, but I think it was the right decision.
Mack: Yeah, I hope so. but my gut tells me there's a part of the plan that Sarge hasn't revealed.
A message from Benson comes online.
Yo-Yo: It's Benson. He's sending a report.
Mack: Let's home it sheds some light on what we're chasing.
Back on the Spaceship. Thug 1 opens a panel, inside is a jar of those... Candies. (Puffies?) He hears a noise, and a bunch of the crew is staring at him.
Thug 1: Sorry, these are mine. Bye! (He turns a corner, and runs into Izel.) Hi.
Izel: What are those?
Thug 1: I'm not sharing. What's that? (Izel moves her hand. It's a Shrike.)
Izel: It's beautiful, isn't it?
Thug 1: What is it? Some kind of pet?
Izel: A nice way to say it.
And the Shrike flies into Thug 1's mouth. He falls to the floor, along with his "candies".
commercial.
Cut to the Semi. Deke is sleeping in a hammock. Snow approaches.
Snow: He breathes in, he breathes out. (Deke wakes up, and Snow puts a hand over his mouth.) Shhhh. You're mine, now.
In another part of the semi, May and Daisy are talking.
May: Kicked you out?
Daisy: Yeah, he was tired of my questions, said he'd rather ride alone. I'm okay with that, 'cause I don't like looking at him.
May: That makes two of us.
Daisy: He died, May. He died, and we buried him, and that was hard enough, and now, this ass-thing with his face shows up? I mean, is this some sort of sick cosmic joke?
May: Oh, I don't know.
Daisy: He's bad news. I don't believe a word he says.
May: I don't know why, but part of me feels like I could trust him. It's just a feeling.
Daisy: Would you be saying that if he didn't have Coulson's face? I mean, really. If he's telling the truth, why not tell us everything. Who the hell is Izel? How could she destroy a planet? Why is he chasing her across the galaxy?
All good questions, Daisy.
On the Zephyr.
Mack: Benson's research is all over the place, but he said this stuff, gave him the chills, and I can see why. What does this look like to you? (Points to image)
Yo-Yo: Birds?
Mack: Not Shrike?
Yo-Yo: Well, it could be anything with wings.
Mack: Did you ever hear the name, Izel? Keeps popping up in his research, something from Incan mythology.
Yo-Yo: Oh, right. So, because I'm from South America, I must know something about Incan mythology? I'm Catholic, Mack. (LOLololol...)
Mack (laughing): No, I'm asking because you spent some time talking with Jaco, and did he ever mention the name?
Yo-Yo: No. Is that her?
Mack: Well, it's an ancient entity. Could be one of their Gods, or Demons, or fallen Angel, alien overlord... I don't know. Whatever she was, thousands of years ago she escaped from a realm of fear and darkness.
Yo-Yo: Well, then I'm going to go with Demon.
Mack: Yeah. And after she escaped, she tried to track down relics from her realm, called the Di'Allas to regain power. These look familar to you?
Yo-Yo: Monoliths.
Mack: Yeah.
Yo-Yo: Ugh. I don't like this story.
Mack: She left a path of destruction wherever she went. Destroying worlds looking for them.
Yo-Yo: Why?
Mack: I don't know. That's the question we need to answer.
Back at the semi. It's now daylight. The device Deke fixed is smoking. Sarge slams on the brakes. A noise is heard from the back of the truck.
May: Deke, you okay?
They open the curtain, and... Snow is riding Deke.
May: Oh...
Deke: Doesn't anybody knock? Geez. It's not what it looks like.
May: You have a hickey.
Deke: Okay, it's a little of what it looks like.
Daisy: I need bleach for my eyes.
Deke: Sequoia left me. Okay? I've been heartbroken. And Snowbunny...
Daisy: Snowbunny...
Deke: She gets me. She said my soul was like a butterfly that was just dying to escape, and you know what? That's exactly how I feel. (Snow rubs Deke's chest.)
Daisy: ugh. (HAhahahahahaha)
Sarge come in from the cab with the device.
Sarge: Seriously Snow? I liked it better when you killed them. (To Deke) You said it was fixed.
Deke: It was.
Sarge (choking Deke against the wall): Then why isn't it working?
May: Let him go.
Deke: It was working. It's being held together with wires and sticky stuff, what did you expect?
Sarge: I expect it to work. If we face them without it, we'll all end up as hosts. Fix it! (Turns to May and Daisy.) Morning. Anyone hungry?
On the spaceship, Thug 2 is holding Thug 1's "candies".
Thug 2: I found these.
Simmons: Please get those away from me.
Thug 2:
Toad would never leave these behind. Something's wrong.
Fitz: It's a big ship. I'm sure he'll turn up. If you don't mind, we're a little busy. (Thug 2 goes away.) Did you ever try those things?
Simmons: Puffies? Just once. By mistake.
Fitz: Did it make you sick?
Simmons: No. Definitely not sick...
Fitz: Are you being cagey again?
Simmons: I saw you in a monkey outfit, dancing. What did you mean by cagey?
Fitz: Wait how... No reverse on that other bit. What do you mean you saw me in a monkey outfit
Simmons: When have I been cagey?
Fitz: When Izel was asking about Monoliths.
Simmons: Oh, right well, there was actually three monoliths, but they were destroyed. Thought it better not to mention anything before we arrived back on Earth.
Fitz: How did they get on the base, and how were they destroyed?
Simmons: It's complicated, but they created these anomalies, but they did provide us with a beautiful wedding venue.
Fitz: Guess I had to be there...
Simmons: You were. And you were dashing.
Fitz: And brave, and I sacrificed myself for the lives of others. Well, looks like you married Mr. Perfect, doesn't it?
Simmons: Are you jealous of yourself?
Fitz: Yep, yes I am. 'cause he'll always be you first husband. I'm only ever going to be the replacement.
Simmons: Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds?
Fitz: Yep, absolutely. Have fun on your wedding night?
Simmons: Oh. It was wonderful. I mean, obviously, but it will be nothing, compared to the second time.
Fitz: What? I wasn't enough the first time?
Simmons: Let's just concentrate on getting a messages back to the base...
On the Zephyr. Pax is pacing.
Pax (to Jaco): We're supposed to be safe in their base, and we're flying straight into the storm. Sarge sold us out. He left us behind to die like animals.
Jaco: Calm down.
Pax: Don't tell me to calm down. You know what's down there.
Yo-Yo (walks in): What? I'd like to know. (Pax shuts up.) We're in this together. We can help if we know what we're facing. How you doing, dragon breath? (Jaco remain silent, vaping his home world brew.)
Pax: You need to turn this plane around!
Yo-Yo: Izel, is that what's scaring you?
Pax: We're not scared.
Yo-Yo: She's a demon, right? That's what you think?
Jaco: We all have our demons, but this one we can kill. If we catch it.
In the semi.
Sarge: But every time we get close, she slips away. Vanishes. Chronica-2 was the closest we came to stopping her. We took out her crew, we had her trapped, and then she was gone. We have no idea how.
May: After you destroyed the planet?
Sarge: We didn't destroy it. By the time we got there, it had already begun. But this time, we're one step ahead. We can keep it from happening here.
May: What's her motive?
Sarge: Hatred, for all living things.
Daisy: What's yours?
Sarge: Love. No, it's hate. That's my thing, too. Hate and revenge. She took my family from me. I won't stop until she pays for that.
May: Well, if she's that powerful, how can you kill her.
Sarge (Gets up, grabs a shortsword): There's only one way to kill the beast.
Daisy: A galaxy hopping hate-beast that eats planets, and you want to defeat her with a... sword.
Sarge: It's sharp. Feel it.
Daisy: I don't buy it. What aren't you telling us?
Sarge: What aren't you telling me? (Moves toward Daisy with the sword. It flies out of his hand and into the wall.)
Sarge: There it is. Hacker, huh?
The tracker.. beeps. It shows a much of dots converging.
Sarge: It's starting.
May: What's starting?
Sarge: The end.
A motorcycle is driving up a dirt road. He drives past cars haphazardly parked on the road, with the doors still open. He gets off the motorcycle and lets it drop, motor still running. However, it shows Shrike are safety conscious, since he's wearing his helmet. There are a couple of dozen hosts there, and with his arrival, start growing crystals, creating a structure. That was gruesome.
commercial.
The semi is still parked. We're shown a scene of the structure from a distance.
Sarge: That's why I was killing the Shrike. To keep them from making that tower. If we don't destroy it before the monster arrives, it'll grow ten times that size. Then it's too late.
Daisy: How does it work?
Sarge: They're drawing their power from the Earth. When it's done, it will erupt into a swarm of those things spreading across the planet, swallowing everything. And the planet dies.
Daisy (to May): Wanna call Mack and tell him the good news?
On the sat phone, Mack is on the Zephyr, May and Daisy are in the cab of the semi.
Mack: How do we stop this? We're trying to get a visual. I want to see what this thing looks like.
May: It's growing Mack. I don't like this.
Daisy: Until this beast woman appears, everyone should sit tight.
Mack: Benson gave us some information that might help us understand her. Has Sarge shared how he plans to take her out?
Daisy: It's unclear, but it may or may not involve a magical sword. (HAhahahaha...)
Before we get a proper reaction from Mack, yet another problem appears.
Davis: Sir, there's a large, unidentified object approaching Earth's atmosphere, and seems to be headed to the rendezvous point.
May: It's probably her. I'll let Sarge know.
Mack: I'll try to make contact with that spacecraft.
On the spacecraft.
Simmons: You're certain?
Fitz: Yep. There's no way to send or receive messages. Not yet, at least. Don't lose hope. Has Izel given you the coordinate where we're supposed to land?
Simmons: No. That's an excellent question. Where did Izel disappear to?
Fitz: That's an equally excellent question.
Simmons: Excuse me Mr. Boyle (Thug 2's name is Boyle), have you seen Izel? Has she given anyone in your crew landing coordinates? Or did you ever find Mr. Toad? (Mr. Toad, lol...)
Boyle ignores her.
Simmons: Was that strange?
Fitz: They were born strange. Haven't you noticed?
On the Zephyr.
Pax: Well, if you're not going to do anything, I will. (He gets up and charges the guard.
Guard: Sit down!
Pax: How am I supposed to sit down, knowing that we're all going to die?
Jaco: There's a plan. Now calm down.
Pax: A plan? No one told me about a plan, Jaco. I swear... If you weren't in that box, I would slit you open, climb inside and eat my way out. Screw Sarge. I'll tell them everything, and maybe we'll live to see another day.
Jaco: Don't be an idiot.
Pax: Sarge hasn't been straight with you people. Now, if I come clean, you gotta turn this plane around.
Guard: Not my decision.
Pax: At least tell your boss that you just got played.
Pax is free, and kills the guard.
On the semi, Sarge is sharpening the sword.
Daisy: How are going to get close enough to kill her?
Sarge: Plow straight into her tower, that will weaken her. Then when she lands and gets off her ship, right through the heart.
May (incredulous): That's the plan. What? No wonder she always gets away.
Sarge: Don't worry, I have an insurance policy this time.
Deke: Well, that's a nice thing to say about me. Denting the universe, once again.
Daisy: I have no idea what that means.
Sarge: Let's end this thing.
On the Zephyr, Pax is letting Jaco out of the pod. Jaco takes off his coat.
Jaco: So you're going to slit me open.
Pax: It's just pretend. So the soldier guy would drop his guard. It was all part of my plan.
Jaco: (laughs) Nice.
Pax: Now tell me Sarge's plan isn't also pretend.
Jaco: There's a plan. It's a little different now that we're on a plane, but it should still work. (Pax shakes his head.) What's wrong?
Pax: Sarge never let's me in on the plan.
Jaco: Because you're not good at secrets.
Pax: I'm excellent at secrets. I didn't tell anybody about the you-know-what that Sarge is going to use on what's-her-name.
Jaco: But you almost did.
Pax: But only because were flying right towards it. I don't want to die. We're still flying towards it.
Jaco: Relax. We're going to take control of the plane.
Pax: How are we supposed to do that?
Yo-Yo walks in.
Yo-Yo: Yeah. How are you supposed to do that? Get back in the pod, now.
Jaco: I think you should get inside.
Pax: Yeah! Maybe you don't understand who you're dealing with.
Yo-Yo... Yo-Yos, puts Pax back in chains, and shoves Jaco back into the pod.
Yo-Yo: Oh, I understand huevón. Damn. You're a really big dude. (checks guard.) Killing this man just destroyed any chance of letting you go.
Jaco: If you don't turn this plane around right now, we're all dead.
Yo-Yo: Seriously? Threats from a man in chains?
Pax: It's not us, it's Sarge.
In the semi, Sarge is reinstalling the device Deke fixed. He starts the truck and starts moving toward the structure.
Pax: He's got a weapon on the truck. Something that's going to take a big bite out of this planet. He's going to wipe out everything down there, and we're flying right in the blast area. Augh.
In the semi, Sarge flips a few switches, then moves into the passenger seat. He opens the glove box which contains an arming panel, and arms the bomb.
commercial.
Back in the semi, Deke is tying Snow to a chair. Sarge comes out of the cab, only to be met by agents with guns. Or May with a gun, and Daisy with her hand.
May: Where is it?
Sarge: Where is what?
Daisy: The bomb. (Throws Sarge a phone.) Mack's on the phone. He wants to talk. Your boy Pax squealed.
Sarge (on phone): Yeah, tell him he needs to keep his mouth shut. (Hangs up phone.) Did he tell you what kind of bomb?
Daisy: It'll leave a crater 200 miles wide.
Sarge: Well, I don't know miles, but if that's a lot, then yeah. That kind of bomb. I told you I had an insurance policy.
Daisy: You're not going to use it.
Sarge: I am. You were right, swords just don't cut it. I'm not taking any chances. When Izel lands, I'm going to blow her, her ship, and her black tower of death to oblivion.
May: We're just outside a city. You'd kill hundreds of thousands of innocent people along with her.
Sarge: A small price to pay to saving your planet and countless others. And we need to get on the same page and get off this truck before we become part of that small price.
Daisy: We are not leaving until it's dismantled.
Sarge: Then you'll be making a bold choice. Are you sure about that?
May: Where is it?
Sarge: It's set to explode on impact. (To Quake) So I wouldn't go doing your thing. It's very sensitive. Oh, and Snowflake, I'm sorry.
Snowflake screams, distracts Daisy/May and Sarge goes back into the cab and locks the door. Daisy is about to blast it, when May stops her.
May: No. You heard what he said. (Deke frees Snow.)
Deke: I'm so sorry I tied you up.
Snow: He left me.
Deke: I know, it's okay, because I'm still here. We gotta find the bomb, where is it Snow?
Snow: I don't know.
Daisy: Wait, who was driving when he was back here?
Snow: He turned on the autodrive. You can't turn it off or slow the truck down. It was made to be a bomb delivery device. It's locked onto the tower.
Daisy: We can't quake our way out, it might set it off.
Deke: Great! So we're in a truck we can't stop, with a bomb that we can't find, a girl who can't quake, and I gave up ten percent of my company for the experience!
May: Shut up and start searching.
The truck continues on. On the Zephyr.
Davis: We have a lock on the target.
Mack: Hold steady. There's no good options here. If we fire on the ship and do Sarge's dirty work, there's no guarantee he'll deactivate the bomb.
Yo-Yo: And who's to say Izel is even on it.
Mack: And if we take out the truck before it reaches a populated area...
Yo-Yo: We could save countless lives.
Mack: But lose three of our own.
Yo-Yo: Or we can just hope and pray that Deke figures out a way to deactivate the alien bomb.
On the truck, Sarge rolls down a window, and climbs out onto the top of the truck. There is an oval on the top of the truck, the same kind they used when robbing the jewelry store. On the Zephyr, Pax stands up.
Jaco: Pax, do me a favor. Move away from my jacket.
Pax looks down, and sees the oval painted on the inside of Jaco's jacket. Sarge activates the device, and transports into the Zephyr. He kills the guard.
Sarge: How are you, Jaco?
Jaco: There's a problem. We're not on their base, we're in a plane.
Sarge: Even better. (Looks at Pax in chains.) Why didn't we ever think of that? (Jaco laughs.)
Back on the truck.
May: How big is it? What's it look like?
Snow: I don't know, I never saw it.
Deke: Would you stop talking to her like one of the bad guys? She's on our side now.
Daisy: You know what? Screw this. If we blow, we're going to blow.
She quakes and opens the door to the cab. Daisy goes in. Deke taps a cylinder. It's hollow.
Daisy: He's gone.
Deke pries off an access panel.
Deke: I think I found it.
On the spaceship. It's entering Earth's atmosphere.
Fitz: I think the ships landing.
Simmons: Where is everyone?
Izel is walking down a corridor, followed by the crew, which have been turned into hosts.
The truck continues toward the tower. Deke pulls the bomb from the cylinder.
On the Zephyr.
Davis: What's the call, sir? Standing by... (Yo-Yo looks at Mack. Well, Mack, that's why they pay you the big bucks...)
commercial. (Aaaaaaargh.)
Epilogue. On Kitson? Enoch looks like he's pacing. Do Chronicoms need to pace when waiting? The phone rings.
Enoch: Isaiah. Thank you for getting back to me.
Isaiah: Enoch, hello! It's been a long time. You look the same.
Enoch: As do you. How are things on planet Leitner? Has the population progressed?
Isaiah: No. Still cooking with feces. Living in caves. But at least I have a home.
Enoch: So you've heard.
Isaiah: Yes, unfortunately.
Enoch: Then you know why I contacted you. I am hoping to organize our fellow anthropologists who are safely stationed away from home.
Isaiah: Are we all that is left?
Enoch: A few others made it out, but I am avoiding them at the moment.
Isaiah: Yes, I've seen your name on the data streams. You've always been very reckless.
Enoch: And you, cautious. But we must gather the fragments of our broken civilization and repair.
Isaiah: I agree. There must be a plan.
On the Chronicom ship.
Baal-Gad(?): I will hunt Enoch down and tear him apart piece by piece. The traitor.
Malachi: Earth made him soft. It is unlikely he will survive anywhere else. We have more pressing concerns.
Baal-Gad: Leopold Fitz and Jemma Simmons. I will gather a force to find them and bring them back.
Malachi: That is not necessary. We do not need their bodies. (Reveal them standing before the Chronicom Mind Machine.) We have their brains, and I'm going in.
End program. (Whew!)
