Went back and searched for the monoliths, and have some questions. When Noah showed May and Fitz the 3 monoliths contained in the lower reaches of the Lighthouse, they were all contained in (presumably) SHIELD containment boxes. They have since been described as the space, time, and (maybe life/death) monoliths.
q1: The center monolith was pretty obviously the Time Monolith, due to the three red stripes. The leftmost monolith did not particularly resemble the space monolith, however. At least, if it was, it was prior to having chunks of it carved out. But that happened way before Gideon Malick's time, because he had pieces of it stored around the world. Doesn't make sense. [edit..went back and looked..the space monolith connected with Maveth had definite sharp angular corners on it. Doesn't look the same to me.] Maybe we don't know what the other two monoliths were yet.
q2: (this is a reach, but hey, I am not the one who introduced time travel to this series...) Supposedly the monoliths got destroyed, when the beacon blew up. You know the one Noah sacrificed his life for to protect the team. Yet if there is a time monolith, what is to prevent someone from going back in time and bringing back the space monolith, if not all of them, to the current storyline? This is why I hate time travel so much...
q3: Not a question..just an observation...when Noah shows the team the beacon coming from the sky, Coulson says, "this is what Voss warned me about. If he's right, this is where it all starts. Hell on Earth". OR DID he say, 'Hale on Earth'
